  • Childhood

    Alexander Hamilton was born a bastard in the west indies to James Hamilton and Rachel Faucette. His father then left him around the age of thirteen. This caused young Hamilton to become the bread winner of the family.
  • Mother's Death

    Mother's Death
    Mother (Rachel Faucette)became ill and later died due to the illness. Hamilton was now left a Orphan and it saddend him. Alexander's home town started to raise funds to send him to America.
  • America

    After others releasing his potential people started helping raising funds for his voyage to America and along with Hamilton working he had enough for his Voyage. At the age of 16 he was sent of from St.Croix to America. He then enrolled in Columbia University.
  • War

    He dropped out of college before graduating and joined forces with the Patriots in protest to British taxes. He then going the New York Provincial Artillery Company and fought in the battles of Long Island. He later caught the attention of General George Washington who made him his trusted adviser and assistant. He wrote Washington's critical letters and many other documents for him.
  • Marriage

    On December 14th, 1780 Hamilton married Elizabeth "Eliza" Schuyler. Eliza came from a rich and prosperous family as Alexander came from nothing. From this marriage came 8 children.
  • Practice at Law

    Practice at Law
    After the British Defeat in 1781 he returned to New York to pursue the practice of law. He studied on his own because he didn't need an apprenticeship since he was a veteran in the war. He specialized in Civil practices but he would still take a few criminal cases. Hamilton stopped to serve in Washington's cabinet.
  • The Convention

    The Convention
    Alexander attend the Federal Convention of 1787. He wrote 51 of the 85 Federal papers in favor of the new constitution. From those papers he played an important role in the ratification of the Constitution.
  • Politics

    After George Washington presidential election he appointed Hamilton as the first Secretary of Treasury. He achieved a lot in this time period like help starting paying for the war. This was his only large Governmental office he held.
  • The Bank

    The Bank
    Hamilton established the first national bank to help relieve some of the debt the new nation was in. One major opposition was Thomas Jefferson who thought that it wasn't a good idea. Andrew Jackson eventually stopped the bank by not renewing its charter.
  • Duel

    After a statement made at a dinner party by Hamilton about Burr it made him angry. It made Him so angry that he wanted to Duel Hamilton. They both agreed and meet at Weehawken, New Jersey on June 11th. On that day Hamilton was shot fatally that he died the next day with his family in New York.
