    The Birth of Alessandro

Alessandro Volta was born in Coma, Northern Italy in 1745. He lived in Filipo with his parents for awhile. This video is just a quick preview of his life and then I will tell you what I know. http://youtu.be/EXqubvANtNs
  • A Fact About Alessandro Volta

    A Fact About Alessandro Volta
Alessandro didn't talk until he was 4! He's parents were unsure if he was just late talking or he was disabled.
  • His First Paper

In 1769, Alessandro Volta studied chemistry and he released his first paper. It didn't have any new discoveries although most people found it really interesting!

    Proffesor Alessandro

In 1775 Alessandro created a product that produces static electricity. In 1778 at the Royal school in Coma, Because Alessandro was a great scientist, he became a professor of physics. He held that position for forty years and that is a long time!
  • Chemistery

    Chemistery
Alessandro got involved in chemistery. He did experiments that were to do with electricity. He learnt how to make an electric spark using gasses.
  • Methane

    Methane
In 1776, Alessandro Volta examined marsh gas and discovered methane. Methane is a colourless, flamable gas. The picture to your left is methane.
  • Frogs Legs

    Frogs Legs
In 1797, Alessandro discovered why frogs legs twitch. It is because whenever an electrical machine went near it. He showed every one how he did it which was using a coin, some foil and he put it on the mouth of a frog.
  • The Voltaic Pile

    The Voltaic Pile
In 1800, Alessandro Volta made a humongous discoverie. That discovery was the voltaic pile which gives things electricityy so it is basically a battery. It is made by piling up copper and zinc and seperating them with material dipped in salt water. I have a video that will explain it you a little better although the first part is about him.

    A Fact
Battery volts are named after Alessandro Volt
  • Retired

In between 1818 and 1819 Alessandro retired coming back to his home in Italy. He had acieveed his goal and wasn't needed any more.
  • Alessandro's Happy Life

    Alessandro's Happy Life
Just before Alessandro died in 1827, he realised he would be a big success with the battery. He died in his country home in Italy, in Camnago. Alessandro lived a happy and successful life. He has proudly made lives better and is a hero to many!
