    The army can't take over another person's home, for quartering/housing of soldiers.
  • 4th Amendment (No search or seizures without good cause)

    No search or seizures without a good cause.
  • 5th Amendment (No Self-incrimination or double jeopardy)

  • 6th Amendment "Speedy 6 - Speedy trial with a lawyer"

    Guarantees a speedy trial, an impartial jury, that the accused can confront witnesses against them, and that the accused must be allowed to have a lawyer.
  • 7th Amendment "Lucky 7 - Trial by jury"

    Guarantees a jury trial in federal civil court cases.
  • 8th Amendment "I h8 fines and punishments"

    Guarantees that punishments will be fair, and not cruel, and that extraordinarily large fines will not be set.
  • 9th Amendment "If not listed the rights are mine - nine"

    A statement that other rights aside from those listed may exist, and just because they are not listed doesn't mean they can be violated.
  • 10th Amendment "10th reserves for the state"

    Any power not granted to the federal government belongs to the states or to the people.
  • 11th Amendment "1 state vs. 1 state in federal courts?"

    Defines the original jurisdiction of the Supreme Court concerning a suit bought against a state by a citizen of another state.
  • 12th Amendment "1 vote gives 2 offices"

    Redefines how the president and Vice-President are chosen by tge Electoral College, making the two position cooperative, rather than first and second highest vote-getters. it also unsures that anbyone who becomes Vice-President must be eligible to become President.,
  • 13th Amendment "Unlucky 13 - unlucky to be in slavery"

    Abolished Slavery in the entire United States.
  • 14th Amendment

    Made All Naturalized peoples citizens. Explained: All citizens of all stats enjoyed not only the rights on the federal level, but on the state level, too. It removed the three-fifths counting of slaves in the census. It insured that the United States would not pay for the debts of rebellious states, It also had several measures designed tp ensure the loyalty of legislators who participated on the conferderate side of the Civil War.
  • 15th Amendment "1 race + 5 more races can now vote"

    Ensures that race cannot be used as a criteria for voting.
  • 16 Amendment "Start working at age 16 and pay income taxes"

    Congress can impose a federal income tax on individuals.
  • 17th Amendment "Seventeen Senators"

    Senators are elected directly by the people.
  • 18th Amendment "No More Drinking Alcohol"

    Prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages NOTE: This was repealed or cancelled By Amentment 21.
  • 19th Amendment "Women CAN Vote"

    Gender cannot be used as a criteria for voting.
  • 20th Amendment "President Starts on January 20th"

    The President and Vice President begin their term for office on January 20th and Congress begins on January 3rd.
  • 21st Amendment "Drinking Age Is 21"

    This Amendment repaealed the 18th amendment.
  • 22nd Amendment "2 (2+2) 4 year terms for President"

    President can only serve two terms
  • 23rd Amendment

    The amendment grants the District Of Columbia (Washington D.C.) the right to three electors in Presidential elections.
  • 24th Amendment "No Poll Tax (Santa Leaves the North Pole on the 24th)"

    No Pole Taxes - people aren't required to pay money to vote.
  • 25th Amendment "25 lines of president successors"

    Succesion (Order) of President.
  • 26th Amendment "2+6=8...18 to vote"

    Any person that is 18 years old or older may vote.
  • 27th Amendment "The last amendment has to do with congressional pay raises"

    Legislatures' pay raises do not take effect until the next year.
