Satellite technolgy has a heavy impact on Australian lives today .It has been used on television , GPS to find the location easily . communication from different countries , telephones , internet , tracking weather , to observe and recieve information .

Satellite technology was first used in Australia for daily news reports . In 1967 Australia also took paert in 2 of the first global satellite telecasts : our World War , a 2 hour program shown in 30 countries at the same time .

Computers become a common thing for communication , work , music , videos , buying things and checking things that you joined like internet banking , insurance etc... It has heavily impacted on the way we communicate , changing the way we speak or communicate to people eg msn without paying , able to connect with people more easily and less time waiting.

This was set up for people with different nationalitiies to able to watch movies and news in their language in their background country. This helps people adapt in Australia with something they are familiar with and to get informed about the events in their country.

The use of cable television started growing . It allows the first constant converage of major events . In 1991 Gulf War was the first news event that sparked " saturation coveage" - commerical networks in Australia showed direct CNN broadscasts all day.
