Spindle Top OIl Findings
In the U.S people had used whale oil to burn for stuff like lamps and cooking stoves. until a finding of a gigantic oil reserve of 330-550 below the surface of the earth. the people used things called oil derricks to brake the rock and suck the oil right from the ground.
In Texas this was discovered once it was discovered they used crude oil for eveything. now that they didnt have to hunt whales for a living people would would come to spindle top to drill. it was all a good gamble. -
Sinking of the Lusitania
In 1915 the first world war was among the people of Europe. And the alleys wernt doing so good. A pasenger ship named the lusitania was carrying about 1900 people and some munitions for the british. so when the ships was going through water that the german u-boats were patroling they shot a torpedo at the ships port side. The torpedo put a gapping hole in the side of hull. she sunk in about 10-30 minutes. It was carrying Americans on board. It ticked the U.S off sense the killed inocent people. -

At the end of the firsrt world war the germans were worried that the U.S.A would join in on the war and that would mean defeat for them and sesne they didnt want that they tried to send a telegram to meixco saying that if they kept the U.S occupied then they would give them the land that they lost in the mexican seccison. but the britss intercepted it and sent it to the U.S and the U.S got ticked off again and declared war on germany. -
Stock Market Crash
After the WW1 things were kinda going ok for the united states until one day the stok market dropped damatically people tried to get there money out of it but it was already tto late the banks tried to keep the peoples money because if no one put therre money in the bank the banks would close.
because of alot of people losing the jobs and money the great depression started and it lasteed till 1945 which was th end of ww2. -
Attck on Pearl Harbor
In the second year of the second world war the japanese empire had been playing a suprize attack on the U.S passific fleet and when time was right they attacked. Only losing 27 aircraft and 5 midget submarines. they saw it as a success. but it really wasnt because after the U.S declared war on japan they began an indutrilizing spree and produced a butt load of goods tat would help them win the war -
D-Day, The Normandy Landings
At the end of world war 2 the nazis new that there was goiing to be an invation. and there was, a very big one. it was called operation Overlord it was it invade france to drive the nazis all thee way back to where they came from. D-day was the lagest air, sea, and land invasions of all time. it came with 5,000 ships 11,000 planes and 150,000 allied troops. this was were troops had the run up a beach and kill the german defensives so they could have a foothold in france to push back to germany. -
Bombing of Hiroshima, The first Atomic Bomb
After the germans surrendered the americans only had to worry about one thing, and tat was the japanese. they were already beatten. but they haddent surrendered and wouldnt u til all fo them were dead but when we dropped on atomic bomb on hiroshima, and then another on nagasaki. the japanese empire serrendered and ww2 was finally over
