Whale Pot Bay
This book is about a boy (Jake) and his dad and the live by Whale Pot Bay. Jake isn’t very happy when a girl (Stephanie) and her mum (Vicky) arrive to live with them. A pop star Milton Summer lives at Whale Pot Bay and Steph loves him. Jake, his Dad, Vicky, Steph and Milton try to save a whale (Pimi,) which is washed up in low water on the bay when a tsunami comes and Milton, Jake and Steph are down there and are luckily not injured. Pimi is lucky to survive as well. -
The Peco Incident
Danny lives with his parents in a small town by Dunedin. His cousin Nick comes and stays for the holidays. Two tourists Brio and Roost bring the bird flu to the chicken farms. The virus gets to Murph and his birds. Murph dies and so do most of his birds, except for his parrot Harriet. The boys have to look after her. She gets found and is taken away. Brio locks up Roost and Danny and his dad find him. Nick and Brio fall off a cliff. Brio is taken, Nick flies back home with his new pet Harriet. -
Matilda
This book is about a girl that lives with her parents and brother. She is very intelligent. Her parents however are mean and don’t care about her. She goes to school and her headmistress (Miss Trunchbull) is very mean too, but her teacher (Miss Honey) is the opposite. Miss T hurts children. Matilda has powers that she does with her eyes. She plays tricks on the principal and she leaves forever and also Matilda’s parents as they are in trouble. Matilda then lives with MIss Honey and is happy. -
The Witches
This book is about a boy that lives with his Grandmamma in England. She is a great story teller about withces. The two people go to stay in a hotel in England. The boy is practicing mouse tricks in the ballroom 86 witches come in. Luckily he is hiding behind the screen, but before they leave he gets turned into a mouse. He then turns all the witches into mouses. He and his Grandmamma go home, and they live happily after that. -
Life of Pi (2 Books)
This book is a book about a boy who lived with his family in Pondicherry, India and they owned a zoo. When the zoo sold they shipped themselves and the animals to Canada. There was a storm one night and the ship sank. However, Pi managed to get on a life boat, but he was with a tiger, orang-utan, hyena and zebra. After a week or so, the only survivors were the tiger and Pi. After months they came upon a sandy island. The tiger left to the jungle and Pi was rescued -
Danny the Champion of The World
A boy (Danny) lives with his father (William) They live together in a caravan and William is a pheasant poacher. Danny finds out and comes up with a brilliant idea to poach all of the pheasants at once. His father thinks that it is a great idea so they complete it. Then trouble happens. The pheasants come back to live and the owner of the pheasants find out what happened. He gets mad. From there everything slips into place and is okay. Danny and his father live happily ever after. -
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Charlie Bucket lives with his Grandmas, Grandpas, Mum and Dad in a tiny house with only one bed. His whole family is starving, as they are very poor and no adults have any job. All this changes when Charlie finds some money when walking home from school and goes and buys a Wonka Chocolate Bar. He finds a golden ticket. He and Grandpa Joe both go to the wonka chocolate factory and at the end of the visit wins a great prize. The factory itself! He and his family from then on live happily. -
Dragonkeeper (2 books)
Ping is a chinese slave girl that slaves for her master Lan. She gets nto trouble and runs away with an imperial dragon and a precious dragon stone. She has a great journey across China but gets into lots of trouble too. She loses the dragon stone to a dragon hunter. She then stays with the Emperor. The dragon and Ping get to the ocean with the dragon stone and find that the dragon stone was actually an egg. A baby hatches out of the egg and Ping is left to look after it happily. -
Alex Rider: Stormbreaker
Alex, a 14 year old boy, lives in London when his uncle, a spy, dies. He takes his uncle's place and becomes a spy also. He is then sent on a mission to Sayles Enterprises, undercover, to find out about new computers being made there. He discovers there is a virus that is deadly and can kill humans instantly. He is almost killed and then returns home to London and interupts the ceremony of the activation to the computers, stoping it all together. In the end Alex becomes a hero. -
The Story of Tracy Beaker
Tracny is a young girl, who lives in an orfanage. She is a bit of a trouble maker, but loves writing. She keeps a book about her, her feelings and what she's done each day. Her Mum is a film star, she sometimes visits Tracy. She is discovered by Cam, a writer. Cam and her go on dates to MacDonalds and Cam takes her back to her house. In the end, Tracy is fostered by Cam and lives hapily ever after. -
Alex Rider: Point Blanc
Alex follows a drug dealer. He gets on a crane and crushes the man's boat. MI6 get take him to their station and send him on another mission to a finishing school in France, as the man running the school seems suspicious. He finds very little information at the start, but finds that the man is a killer. He is making fake models of the boys and locking the real ones up in cells. Alex is almost killed, but he escapes. MI6 sent in the SAS and that has the boys freed the man, the fake boys killed. -
Alex Rider Skeleton Key (2 books)
Alex is off to spy on a guard at a tennis club, when he almost gets killed. He then hets in touch with Alan Blunt and is sent off to cuba to spy on a man called General Sarov, as he was apparently buying nuclear explosives, with two other agents that don't like Alex. Alex then again finds himself in great danger, but eventually stops the nuclear explosives exploding and saves the world. Again. -
My Story: Titanic
This book is a diary of a girl who travelled on the Titanic. She lived in a orphage, and here brother, lives in Boston. When there was an opportunity to travel on the Titanic with Mrs Carstairs, it was a great way to see her brother, as it was meant to arrive in New York. She is having a great time onboard the ship until on night she has to get on a lifeboat for an unknown reason. She is sad when she realises the ship is sinking. She is happy when she is picked up by a boat and makes it to NYC. -
Best Friends
Alice and Jemma have been best friends since the second they were born. For many years they have played, had arguments and became friends again. The pair are both devastated when Alice moves to Scotland. Jemma is able to travel to Scotland with her much loved Grandpa, but is upset, when she discovers Alice has made new friends. -

They find out they are sisters and then become great friends. They keep in touch via mail, and eventually Danny accepts Destiny as his daughter. -

When she arrives at the capitol with felow tribute Peeta Mellark, they have interviews, meet other contestants and train. Once they arrive in the arena, there are many deaths and both Katniss and Peeta find themselves well endangered. By the end of it, Katniss and Peeta team up and survive; they are able to return home. But the President is unhappy with how the games end. -
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2 Books)
Katniss and Peeta have won the Hnger Games. They go and visit the 11 other districts. But along the way there are tears and death. Once they both return home, the desrt their love act. When Katniss finds out her and Peeta have to return to the 75th Hunger Games. Fortunately, they make it out alive, by Katniss destroying the arena. But Katniss finds out heart-breaking news once she escapes. Her district has been destroyed, Peeta is in Prson and her allies were a setup to get her out alive. -
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (2 Books)
Katniss Everdeen has survived The Hunger Games twice and president snow is even unhappier. Whilst survivors of District 12 stay in District 13, a rebellion between the districts and capitol start. Along the way Peeta's mind was messes with by the capitol and he joins the Capitols side, but starts to improve again. After a while, Katniss and others go and defeat the Capitol, by having a war. It resolves in President Snow dying. Katniss returns to District 12 and begins to live happily with Peeta. -
The Fault In Our Stars (2 Books)
Hazel Grace Lancaster is a 16 year old girl suffering cancer. Whilst attending a cancer support group she meets a 17 year old named Augustus Waters. They swap their favourite books with each other. And in the end they set off to Amstedam in search of an author. Along the way, they end up falling in love. Shortly after, Hazel discovers Augustus is suffering badly, and may shortly die. After a month, he does. She ends up grieving, but finds a note about her which was sent to the author. -

Gemma is an amzing swimmer, who every night swims in the sea. But one day she is dragged to far out and ends up on an island with girls she knows as weird. When she wakes up the next morning feeling drugged on the sand, she knows something has changed. Over the next few weeks she sees great changes in her body and discovers she has been turned into a iren, like the weird girls. Now she must choose to spend her life with them, away from her family and friends, doing evil things, or die. -

When World War II begins, Becky and her parents are forced to leave Poland to avoid the Nazis. They head to Paris, where Becky makes a friend, Claudette. Again, they have to move, so the move to Nice. Unfortunately, Beckys mum dies there. Once again they have to shift further across the country, but she is still happy with her friend Claudette and new friend. At the end of her diary, she closes that she doesn't know where they will go next, but she is okay. -
