  • 9/11

    This was a series of coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda against the United States. The World Trade Center in New York, NY was brought down by two hijacked planes. The third plane crashed into the Pentagon and the fourth one crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania when the hijackers were afraid of the passengers gaining control back. The attacks killed 2,996 people, injured over 6,000 others. 9/11 is the single deadliest terrorist attack in human history.
