  • Yalta Confernece

    The Yalta Conference was a meeting held between the big three (Stalin, Truman, and Church Hill in order to discuss postwar relations.
  • Presidents

    Franklin D. Roosevelt served as president from 1933 to 1945 were he served 4 terms and died shortly after he had been relected on his fourth term. Vice president at the time( Harry S.Truman) took over as president and served from 1945-53.

    Europe obtained their victory as Germany surrendered to the Russian army
  • The Potsdam conference

    The Potsdam conference was the third conference held between the leaders of the top three nations. Joseph stalin ( The Soviet Union), Winston Churchill (Britain), and Harry S. Truman ( United states) in order to discuss the issues of Germany's postwar. Germany and Austria were divided into 4 parts. Some sided with the united states others sided with the soviet union.
  • Hiroshima

    President Truman ordered that the US drop a bomb on hiroshima, Japan. This immediatly caused over 80,000 people to die and 90% of the city to be wiped out
  • Nagasaki

    The second bomb was ordered to be released on Nagasaki Japan on August 8 (2-3 days after the bombing of hiroshima occured)

    The Japanese surrenderd bringing the cold war to an end on September 2nd president Truman celebrated a ceremony to honer vj day

    The Truman Doctorine- President Truman pledged to aid any country facing a communist union
  • Berlin Blockage

    Russia’s response to the French, US, and UK merger partitioning Berlin which cut off road and rail links leading up to that sector. This meant that no access to neither supplies or food could be obtained by the civilians living in the western part of Berlin which led to starvation. US and Uk provided some aid by practicing an act known as the Berlin Airlift.
