    The Battle of the Atlantic is the longest continuous military campaign during World War 2. The battle was a naval ship and aircraft involving Germany versus Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

    Attack on Pearl Harbor
    The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor lead to the United States being part of World War 2. It was also the main cause in the Japanese American internment camps.
  • Cost for Food

    The cost of food went up due to rationing. The United States rationed food, so it lasted longer and they could send more over to the soldiers fighting in the war.
  • Cost for Chewing Gum

    Cost for Chewing Gum
    Chewing gum was a very common and highly requested item for military food rations. Many soldiers wanted to have cigarettes and gum with there field rations, so the demand went up. As the demand went up the cost in the United States did too. They paid 11 cents for a pack of gum which is about 2.25 now.

    The United States decided to bomb Hiroshima and shortly after Nagasaki becuase of the japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. This was a key part of World War 2 and lead to the surrender of Japan.

    The United States bombed Nagasaki shortly after bombing Hiroshima. It was the first use of an atom bomb. Many civilians were killed in the bombing. It lead to the surrender of Japan.
