    Originally the 14th amendment was meant to protect the rights of freed slaves, but today it protects the rights of citizens from getting deprived of life, liberty, or property without the due process of law. Congress just repealed one of trumps imigration laws because it hurt citizens that were trying to go in and out of the U.S. Scource 1.

    Slaughter houses in New Orleans were letting waste into streams and had caused serious health problems in citizens. The slaughter house challenged the states action citing the 14th Amendments privleges and immunities.
