    Newspapers were invented in the 1700’s but were and always will be an important way the world receives news. During the revolutionary war newspaper became very popular, obviously because people wanted to know the news on the war. People from all across the world started buying newspapers. In the 1800’s producing newspapers because easier and cheaper meaning more newspapers to produce to the public.

    Magazines were invented in 1731 but only spigot it’s start in America in the 1800’s. By the 1820’s more magazines were being made and it grew from there. Magazines didn’t really get popular until photographs were invented and became the purpose of magazines for us today.

    Once photography was invented in the 1820’s, it took over magazine and newspaper and made both even more popular to the public. Magazines became only filled with pictures and finally took over as the biggest new mass media.

Using Morse code to send messages from one person to another. Was the number one mass media for years to send news from one area to another.

    Phonographs were invented in 1877 at the menlo park lab. Before radio people used phonographs, also known as a record player today.phonographs work in an interesting way that allowed people to record music through them. The sound causes vibrations that travel down the horn causing the diaphragm to vibrate. The diaphragm is connected to a stylus and pressed into a cylinder covered in tin foil, or wax.

    Motion picture was invented in 1888 but wasn’t popular until the 1910’s. Films were taking over the mass media of magazines. Movies became big in the 20’s, millions of people across the world were gathering at theaters to watch the latest films.

    After motion picture arose, radio was the next big think all around the world. It became the most popular way to hear news, listen to music, sport broadcast, and talk shows. Once television came around radio was less of a place for news but still popular. The radio made a big comeback in the 80s and 90s for talkshows.

    The first television was made in 1927 and the first broadcasted station, Charles Jenkins Laboratories, was aired in 1928 to the public. More stations, especially news stations, grew across the world and became more accessible and popular in the 50s/60s. Politics grew more through the affect television had on everyone.

    In 1976 Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak released their first Apple computer to the world. This event was the beginning and start to the internet we have today. Popularized having a personal computer and opened possibilities for many people across the world. Made work easier for everyday civilians and made writing for writers and editors more convenient.
