    A second Sino-Japanese War broke out between the Japanese and Chinese in 1937. The CCP and Chinese Nationalists got together to fight against Japan. China was provoked by Stalin who saw Japan as a threat, so he armed China. China received aid from Western Democracies, Britian, France, and the U.S. that had a strong public opinion against Japan. Nazi Germany originally sent aid, but later sided with Japan. The Japanese Fall of Nankings killed an 300,000 China civilians and raped 80,000 women.

    Blitzkrieg is a German word for "lightning war". It is a military tactic designed to create disorganization among enemy forces through the use of mobile forces and locally concentrated firepower. German forces tested this tactic in Poland in 1939.

    This was the date where Germany invaded and conquered France. The reason the Germans were able go capture Paris was because Paris had no strategical defense for invasions. They invaded with tanks heavily armed. Just 4 days Into the invasion Gremans forces crossed the Meuse River and had started the battle on French lines. This happened because Gremany had already declared war on France but never attacked. The outcome of this was many French vessels were destroyed and many civ's were killed.

    Since German dropping bombs in Britian a few weeks earlier; Britian dropped 2,300 tons of bombs in Hamburg with over 1,500 civilians being killed in the first raid. Britain barely got damaged due to their new "window" invention, which was used to look like an aircraft, but had no one in it so many lives were saved.     America, Canada, and British forces (allies) attacked on beaches in France. They attacked because Western Europe was under Nazi Germany control due to the results of the Battle of Normandy. This was one of the largest military assaults in history. 156,000 troops stormed the beaches with 4,000 were killed. May 8,1945, Nazi Germany surrendered; this was considered the start of the end of WWII.

    This battle began because of the need for a base near the Japanese coast. Iwo Jima had had about 23,000 Japanese army and navy tops that worked in caves, dugouts, and underground installations. America invaded Iwo Jima for the desire to gain a place bombers could be safe and a base for the fighters , but in the end lost 5,900 people and 17,400 wounded. When America eventually gained victory, the American soldiers raised a flag over Mount Suribachi at the south of Iwo.
