    -The crisis is the official magazine of the (NAACP) National Association of the advancement of colored people, founded in 1910.

    -Haves were rich people, or people that had power.
    --If you were poor or not educated then it means that they dont desereve to have money or power and they were a have not.
    -Concept behind social darwinism was racism,money, and power.
    -What social classes owe to each other was a pamphlet by William Graham Summers about solving social problems created in 1883-1903

    -Congress strengthened national immigration law with new legislation in 1903-1907.
    -Another change, the introduction of pre-inspection and more-rigorous medical examinations at the point of departure saved time for people passing through some american parts of entry and reduced the number of excluded immigrants.
    -Nativists believed that because the U.S now had fewer unskilled jobs available, fewer immigrants should be led into the country.

    -Assembly line was afficient he was able to double wages overnight while slashing prices.
    -Ford paid employes $5 so they could afford the cars they were building.

    -Attorney General A.Michell Palmer was the leader of the "Palmer Raids" it was to capture, arrest and deport radical leftists especially anarchists from the U.S.

    -Xenophobia-Irrational fear of foreigners.
    Causes-The U.S was scared of the communist party that was forming in the U.S when a wave a strikes also hit the U.S in 1919.
    -The Palmer Raids were the direct responce to the supposed attended bombings which to the breaking into peoples houses violating their rights headed by Attorney General Alexander Mitchell Palmer.
    -Sacco and Vanzetti were both Italians accused for supposidly being communist and were sentenced to death for robbery.

    -19th Amendment to the U.S constitution granted American women the right to vote a right known as woman sufferage.
    -1848 the movement for women's right launched on a national level with a convention it became a center peace of women's right movement after 70 year battle the passage of the 19th amendment passed.

    -The members plede themselves to do all in their power conserve the rights of all mankind believing always in the Brotherhood of man and the Fatherhood of god.

    -The Ku Klux Klan, dead for decades,found new life in 1915.Klan members were hostie to immigrants,catholics,Jews and African Americans.

    -John Scopes was accused of violating Tennesse'ss better acts when made unharmful to teach human evolution in any state funded school.
    -Scopes was defended by Clarence Darrow & across the asle was William Jennings Bryan.
    -Most People on jury were churchgoing farmers.
    -John Scopes lost & had to pay a fine of $100 & the butler act stood strong until1967.
    -The Butlers Act was teachers who couldn't deny biblical origin.

    -Name of plane was the spirit of St.Louis.

    -The concept of eugenics was a movement aimed at improving the genetic composition of the human race.
    -Alexander Graham Bell and Leonard Darwin had came up with the earlier ideas of Eugenics in 1912.
    -Eugenics was carried out by the nazi party during WW2 by Adolf hitler during the genociole of the Jews.

    -Duke Ellington was a Jazz composer, he called his music "American Music" during his 50 year career he played 20,000 performances.
    -Ellington's orchesta began a four year residency at harlems cotton club in 1927.
    -Ellington gained a maximal profile through his orchestra's appearances at the cotton club, his name because known after the success of "It don't mean a thing" and 'Mood Indigo".
    -The cotton club was for African American composers and for white quinces.
