    Jennings Randolph
    Jennings Randolph was a senator in West Virginia he first served in the House from 1933-1947 and was in Senate from 1957-1985. He created safety acts for workers in coal mines. He also lowered the voting age to 18.     On January 23 1964 the 24th Amendment was ratified which completely banned poll taxes. Poll taxes were used to discriminate against African Americans and people who were poor due to African Americans and poor people who did work making no money or barely at all.
