    The Model T
    The first production Model T was produced on August 12, 1908 and left the factory on September 27, 1908, at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant in Detroit, Michigan. On May 26, 1927, Henry Ford watched the 15 millionth Model T Ford roll off the assembly line at his factory in Highland Park, Michigan. This was very important because it was the first car that was affordable for the average american.

    The Jeep
    Prior to 1940 the term "jeep" had been used as U.S. Army slang for new recruits or vehicles, but the World War II "jeep" that went into production in 1941 specifically tied the name to this light military 4x4, arguably making them the oldest four-wheel drive mass-production vehicles now known as SUVs. This was a significant change in cars. It became the first 2 wheel drive all purpose vehicle that became available to citizens. This shows the change that was happening in the automobile industry.

    Many vehicle manufacturers begin to abandon once popular gas-guzzling SUVs for more efficient vehicles due to environmental concerns and the recession. Gas had also become very expensive around this time so they introduced more cars that used less gas and were more fuel efficient.
