1470 Ivan the great becomes the leader and ended the mongol rule and also greatly expanded the land nim and hi people had control over.Later in 1530 Ivan the terrible became leader unlike the previous Ivan he became Russia's Czar the country was in one of ts worst time in his rule due to constant foreign invasions and great economic decline. -
The devopment of Russia
Many peasents were forced to become slaves do to a lack of income to pay heavy taxes that were placed on the people.The reason that they were attempting to turn to peasents into slaves is they followed the rule of the strong and rich survive while the peasents suffer with less than enought food to feed there family.During this time Russia was also growing in man other ways such as building a stronger military, increasing there trade partners and building a new capital. -
Czar Alexander II was assassinated
1881 Czar Alexander II was assassinated due to a bomb thrown by a citizen.There had been many previous attempts to kill Czar but all of them had ended in failure until march 13 1881.Alexanders assassins were later jailed and hanged. -

Russia in WW1 commonly won battles by sending out very large amount of troops such as when russia sent two armies to defend against austro-hungarian invading from galicio.Russia was also one of the best defended country it was almost impossible to cross the freezing terrain unless you were from russia and were trained for this special environment featuring harsh conditions lack of food and lack of rain.Russia entered WW1 when germany declared war and got heavily defeated by russia and allies. -
Bolsheviks seized control from Czar Nicholas II
March 1917 protests from the army and workers forced Czar Nicholas II to abdicate.Bolsheviks seized control quite easily due to Nicholas being poorly trained to rule.July 16 a secret meeting was held to decide to kill Nicholas the 2nd,his children and his family that night. -

Became the ruler of Russia ruling with and iron fist killing anyone who dared disagree with the russian policies.Stalin single handedly caused the death of over twenty five million russians due to either starvation and murder.Was the major cause of Hitlers defeat in WW11 and in return demanded half of europe ounce the war was over. -

Russia was a major part of world war 2 being a major threat due to mass nuclear power they were not something many counties could rival at the time.During this time slavery in russia was not nearrly as bad as before and russia instead forced many to join the military to fight n the front lines.Russia was a very difficult country to attack due to the attackers being unabl to stand the weather that happens commonly in Russia. -

A time of four decades between the USA and the Soviet Union were both sides didn't dare attack due to fear of total annihilation of their own country due to both sided possessing vast nuclear weaponry.This time was used for constant increase in both sides military power by recruitment into the military and propaganda was spreading like wildfire.1991 the Soviet union admitted defeat to the US and the cold war was over. -

Mikhail Gorbachev was named a member of the central committee of the communist party of the soviet union in 1971.Now in 1979 Mikhail Gorbachev joined the supreme policy-making body and in 1985 was elected general secretary of the CPSU.Mikhail Gorbachev quickly rose to power and became a much better leader and political figure than anyone guessed he was going to be. -
