    A fire broke out at the markets near the Circus Maximus. One the fire was stopped about 2/3 of Rome was in ruin. Many were homeless and jobless. It took the Romans a long time to recover from it. I was unable to find data on how the fire broke out but one theory is that it was just a clumsy shop owner who knocked over a lamp or torch.

    The deciding battle of who rule over the entire Roman empire. The battle was fought between two emperors named Maxentius and Constantine I. The victor was Constantine I. He was victorious when his opponent drowned in the Tiber river.

    Stoped prosecution of Christians. An edict was passed that banned the prosecution of Christians. It granted freedom of belief. Everyone was able to worship whatever deity they wanted to. They did not want to restrict the belief of the people so no one would be rebellious due to religious controversy.

    The last emperor to rule over both of the Roman empires. After him, the Roman empire was split into two parts. The East and West would be at war not long after. Both sides wanted control over the entirety of Rome.
