The Great Fire of Rome was Emperor Nero's idea that way he could start to rebuild the city but for that he would have to get rid of the old city. the city was burning for six days and burnt down 1/3rd of the city. the people started to blame Nero for the fire but then he used the Christians for a easy way out. people started to take notice to this religion but they would feed then to animals and burn them at his garden parties.

Constantine the great was the first emperor that supported Christianity. he saw a cross in the sky the night before a battle and he had a dream that night where he saw X and P so he put X and P on his soldiers shields. He won the battle and thought since he did all of this that's why he won, then in 313 Constantine made the Edict of Milan. The Edict of Milan was created to give Christians legal right and that way people could be what ever religion they want.

Emperor Theodosius made the Edict of thessalonica, this is what made Christianity Rome's main religion. The Edict of thessalonica helped do this by starting christian traditions and then it started to spread all around Rome until it was the main religion
