  • #1: Grandparents immigrated to Canada

    #1: Grandparents immigrated to Canada
In 1975, my Grandma and Pappy immigrated from South Hampton, England to Markham, Ontario, bringing the Davidge family to Canada. I rank this event as most historically significant because it has affected the whole Davidge family. If my grandparents never left England, my Aunt, Dad, and Mom’s lives would be very different, not to mention the fact that Sarah and I most likely wouldn’t have been born. The image is a PRIMARY source because it is the British Passport my dad used when he moved here.
  • #4: Mom and Dad Moved to Burlington

#4: Mom and Dad Moved to Burlington
In 1997, my parents moved to Burlington and settled in the house that I have lived in my whole life. This event was historically significant because it decided where my family and I were going to spend our lives, which has led to many consequences/important events. It's also the reason why I now attend the school and have the friends I do. The image is a PRIMARY source because it is the exact flyer of my house in the newspaper (the flyer my parents saw that made them want to buy it).
  • #2: My parents got married

    #2: My parents got married
My parents, Kim and Piers Davidge, got married in October 1999. This event was very historically significant to the Davidge family, as many people were affected and impacted, including the Langton’s that became part of the Davidge family. Not only was this event important at the time, it also led to very important future events, like when Sarah and I were born. The image attached is a PRIMARY source because it is an image of my parents actual marriage documents.
  • #3: Sarah and I Started Playing Hockey

#3: Sarah and I Started Playing Hockey
When Sarah and I were 7 years old, we decided to lace up the skates and start playing hockey. This event has led to our love and future in the sport, impacted our lives greatly, and led to future events like winning Provincials and LLFHL in 2015. Although this event has mainly only effected my close family of my Mom, Dad, Sarah and I, it has affected the four of us in great ways. The image attached is a PRIMARY source because the photograph was taken, not copied or redone.

  • #5: We got a dog - Luke

    #5: We got a dog - Luke
My adorable dog named Luke, joined our family in December 2011. Luke has made all my family’s lives so happy, has changed many family member’s opinions about dogs, and will go down in Davidge history as the cutest dog ever. Although he takes up a lot of our time (this is a consequence), it was totally worth it. The image attached to this point on the timeline is a PRIMARY source because it is a photograph of our dog, Luke.
  • #6: Started High School

    #6: Started High School
Starting High School at Dr. Frank J Hayden was a huge milestone because it signifies a kid's growing up and starting to think about life as an adult. This was an important event for Sarah and I and has led to many consequences including meeting many new friends, learning to play new sports, and making life decisions about our future professions and university choices. The image attached to this point on the timeline is a PRIMARY source because it was taken directly at my OFSAA race for Hayden.
  • #7: Mom and Dad completed an Ironman

#7: Mom and Dad completed an Ironman
Last year, my parents traveled to Louisville, Kentucky, to complete their very first Ironman triathlon. As my mom and dad trained for over a year for this event, it was very historically significant and important to us, and their journey to the finish line affected our family greatly. The attached image is a PRIMARY source. I know this because the photograph was taken directly at the site of the Ironman, it has not been copied or redone. (The image is of the finish line in Lousiville, Kentucky)
