    On September 14, 1901 President William McKinley was assassinated. Theodore Roosevelt was his vice president and became president after President McKinley was assassinated. The people were happy when Roosevelt became president. They liked his character. Another reason why they liked him was because he handled the coal miners strike of 1902 by appointing a commission to investigate. One of Theodore Roosevelt's most popular things that he had 125 million acres set aside as National Forests.

    William Howard Taft was elected president in 1908. He had an easy election because he was suggested by Theodor Roosevelt. Theodore Roosevelt and Taft were best friends but that didn't last long when Taft became president. Taft did not believe in the stretching of Presidential powers like Roosevelt did.1909-1913

Once Germany found out that the U.S was aiding the Allied Powers, they sunk one of the U.S. supply ships. 128 Americans died on that ship. This really angered America and caused them to go against the Central Powers.

    On October 17,1918, the Allied forces did their final push against Germany's border. While they were doing their final push the Central Powers began to collapse. Turkey signed an armistice at the end of October and Austria-Hungary followed on November 3. Without their sapport Germany quickly fell. On November 11, 1918, Germany sighned an armistice at a railroad car parked in a French forest near the front lines.

    On June 28th 1914, Austrian archduke, Francis Ferdinand and his wife were assassinated by Gravilo Princip. Francis Ferdinand also had a bomb thrown in his car by the group of assassins that were trying to kill him. Their bomb plan didn't work, because before the bomb exploded Francis picked it up and through it out the window. Later on that day Gravilo Princip saw Francis and his wife at a cafe and shot both of them.
