    In Spring 1944, the captial, Budapest, was over taken by Hungarian police. The Jews of Siget believed that they would not be taken over by the Hungarain's, that it would be limited to just a capital city. But later, they were taken over and the Jewish leaders of Siget were forced to wear a yellow star on their clothing. After, their valubles, such as jewels were taken. The Jews were then forced to live in ghettos.

    The young, ederly, physically ill and mentally ill were killed at first chance. Elie and his father luckily made it, however, they had to lie of their age. The Nazi's had taken it to an exteme. There were no funeral ceremonies, just small infants and babies thrown into one fire pit as the adults were thrown into another. Bodies were fully shaved and disinfected with gasoline.They has two options; to burn alive or to edure hard back-breaking labor.

    "The tooth doctor" was known for pulling teeth without numbing for gold crowns. As for Elie, he does not get his tooth pulled.
  • Elizer's Father.

    Another Jewish Holiday had passed, and Elie had been moved to work elsewhere. He hoped his father would be moved with him, but he later finds out his father was to be exucted because he was too weak.
  • The run.

    The prisoners are off to another camp. They stop in a blizzard where some freeze to death. Elie and his father keep eachother warm. They then are yet sent to another camp after and most prisoners die.
