MTV
MTV is a television channel purely to allow people with cable television to consume music and music videos. When it began it was mostly a TV channel that played music however over the years the channel now plays constant music videos 24/7 and has a very large audience that consumes its content. I may not be able to get our video on the channel but it is something to think about. -
The Internet
This is when the internet was invented. This was a revolutionary thing for music videos as previously music videos would have only been shown on TV channels such as MTV etc. This will have an effect on the audiences that watch my video as the internet has made it possible for a much bigger audience to view the video and also a much wider range of viewers to see the video on the internet. I will need to make sure I use this method to show the video to these audiences. -
iPod
This was the date of the announcement of the iPod. A portable music player that will also allow you to watch music videos. This was a big step for the way that people consume music videos and it allowed people to watch music videos portably. This will have an effect on the audiences that will view my video as it makes it that much more easier for people to consume the music video and result in more wider audience. -
Vimeo
Vimeo is an online media player similar to YouTube. The difference between Vimeo and YouTube is that Vimeo has a much more professional user base and most of the people who upload to vimeo are using it for a video profession, it also has less compression than YouTube which attracts people who are trying to achieve the best quality images. This form of media is going effect the audience of our music video as it allows video professionals to view our video as well as the whole user base of Vimeo. -
YouTube
YouTube is the most popular online media player. It’s a website that allows users to post videos online for other people to view. This is a huge consumer of music videos as most music videos these days will find their way onto this site. This will give our music video more of an audience and a much wider range of audiences to consume the video.
