  • Communist International

    Communist International
    The Comintern or Third International was used to hasten the Socialist Revolution. Its main function was to find strategies and tactics used to promote the international socialist revolution. The Comintern was the main source of the Soviet Union's control over the international communist movement. Stalin wanted to build socialism in his country but at the same time wanted a world revolution which contradicted each other giving off suspiscion to others. The Comintern party wanted to end fascism.
  • Versailles Treaty

    Versailles Treaty
    The Treaty of Versailles peace document was signed to end WWI by the allied powers and Germany in June, 1919. All of the allied countries were invited to the meeting except for Germany. During the meeting President Wilson introduced his 14 points. Most of it was ignored, the other countries wanted money from Germany for all damage done. The treaty was drafted during the Paris Peace Conference by the "Big Four" who forced Germany to sign terms causing internal problems and sparking new movements.
  • League of Nations

    League of Nations
    This was the first international security organization located in Geneva, Switzerland used to resolve disputes among the nations. The U.S. never entered the League but addressed the Presidents Fourteen Points providing resolutions. The League was brought in and helped many disputes among countries including helping resolve problems with the city of Vilna. They also made bigger efforts to stop Germans to stop the production of warfare which Hitler got away from. The League fell when WW2 started.
  • Fascism In Italy

    Fascism In Italy
    After many years of communicating his ideas about his country's political crisis, over throwing the government, Mussolini rose to become Prime Minister of Italy and then becoming a dictator. Mussolini believed in fascism and a fascist country. In his country there were men who controlled the areas called black shirts. Anyone who disobeyed or felt they were rebelled were punished or killed. Under fascism there was ultra nationalism in their country which encouraged many other leaders like Hitler.
  • Hopeful Years

    Hopeful Years
    The Hopeful years boosted moral into countries slowly deteriorating like Germany. This was the time when countries came to help each other. An example is the U.S. helping out Germany's problem with hyperinflation by Dawes plan. During this time period, Germany was also admitted to the League of Nations. Many treaties were made for land and there were many plans to reconstruct places need. However still with all the kindness Germany was still doing things their way and starting a powerful state

    Stalin In Power In Russia
    As Stalin rose to power after Lenin died he ruled as a brutal dictator. He was a totalitarian leader that ruled a communist country and had a series of secret police throughout Russia. Anyone Stalin felt was a threat to Russia and disagreed with him would be punished or killed. He used terror to make his citizens obey and had something known as the Great Purge in Russia. Before WW2 Stalin had wanted to form an anti-Hitler organization after his son was taken sparking more problems with Germany.
  • The Great Depression

    The Great Depression
    The depression began after the stock market in the U.S. had crashed causing people around the world to be unemployed and have deflation. There were declines in many industries such as trade and jobs around the globe. Many places were struck with hyperinflation and put many people to poverty. Many leaders put forth the effort to stop the depression by setting up systems where people could get jobs. However in Germany, Hitler rose to power and saw this as time to rebuild his country with power.
  • Japan Invades Manchuria

    Japan Invades Manchuria
    After the depression had hit Japan really hard they found new ways to regrow. They also felt that they were excluded and thought as weak during the treaty of Versailles because they had no say. To help with their slowly dead economy they invaded Manchuria. There they invested their money into the economy which was controlled by the railway company. This eventually led to WW2 because of the disrespect they felt from the other countries making them want the countries to feel their wrath.
  • Germany Starts To Go It Alone

    Germany Starts To Go It Alone
    After the collapse of the Wiemar Republic Hitler Built Germany the way he wanted it. Germany withdrew from most of the conferences they were involved in and disobeyed all of their treaties made against them. Hitler then prepared his great army of "superior beings" for war and was not ready to let back. They then started WW2 using a blitzkrieg style to attack their enemies causing a world state of shock.
  • Third Reich

    Third Reich
    The Third Reich or third regime was the German empire under Hitler. Under these terms Germany was a totalitarian state that controlled all aspects of the German life. Kids were wanted in the Hitler Youth, women were wanted to make mass amounts of babies, and the Jewish religion and people were persecuted. During Hitler's rule he had a mass killing of most Jews in Germany causing fear of Hitler. This lead to WW2 because Hitler basically wanted world domination in the years to come.
