    During the Colonial time Period, there was an establishment of a new permanent settlement called Jamestown. On May 14,1607 Jamestown was founded and John Smith had a major role in establishing it. Jamestown is the first permanent British settlement. Jamestown is located in Virginia

    13 Colonies
    During the Revolution, the thirteen colonies was taken place. It was a group of colonies in Great Britain on the Atlantic Coast of America and they wanted to declare their independence in the 17th and 18th century. This was located in North America during the year of 1775.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd president of the United States. The Declaration of Independence states that the thirteen colonies were declared independent. The Declaration of Independence was written in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 4th,1776. That's when we got our freedom from Great Britain and now it's national holiday.

He believed that a republic depended on an independent, virtuous citizenry for its survival, and that independence and virtue went hand and hand with landownership, especially the ownership of small farms.The Westward Expansion of the United States is one of the defining themes of the 19th century American Century.

    The Civil war was taken place in Gettysburg Virginia. It was a major war due to the enslavement of African Americans. Ulysses S. Grant was the Union General during the Civil war. He commanded the victorious union army.

    During the Glided Age and Progressive Era the Telephone was invented. The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876 in Brantford, Canada. It transmits human voices through a wire. It was made of a double electromagnet with a membrane stretched in front of it. In the center of the membrane was positioned a strip of iron. There was a mouth piece that was shaped like a funnel, similar to those used in old gramophones.The telephone helps us a lot nowadays.

    This was a time of change in America. Many people believed that the government should do more to protect people and that business had become too powerful. Social workers, professors, religious leaders, and journalists came together to improve housing and schools, set up programs to help the poor and help make the government run a lot better.

    German troops invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, triggering World War II. The battle for Poland only lasted about a month before Nazi victory. But, the invasion pushed the world into a war that would continue for almost six years. The lives of tens of millions were taken away.

    The Berlin Airlift could be called the first battle of the Cold War. This was when western countries delivered much needed food and supplies to the city of Berlin through the air because all other routes were blocked by the Soviet Union. The Berlin Airlift began after the Communist government of East Germany, which surrounded West Berlin, under the orders of Joseph Stalin. This launched a blockade cutting off the land and canal supply routes to the western part of the city.

    Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested and sent to jail because he and others were protesting the treatment of African Americans in Birmingham, Alabama. A court rules that Martin Luther King Jr. could not hold any protests in Birmingham. Birmingham, in 1963, was a difficult place for African Americans to live in. Everything was completely segregated (churches, libraries, businesses).

    Nine Eleven
    On September 11,2001 Osama Bin Laden's terrorism group attacked the Twin Towers in New York. They hijacked to aircrafts and planned it out so that both of the aircrafts would hit both towers around the same time. They succeeded with their mission, but most of them lost their lives. 9/11 was 1 of the most devastating moments in US history. It's really sad to think of all the lives that were lost because of Bin Laden's group. In fact, there was a lady from my village in that building that died.
