    First formal accreditation provided by the North Central Association. Makes it easier for students to transfer in and out to other programs. Also helps set a standard for the level of education provided to the students and builds trust in the community.

    The Nationwide Commision on the Future of Community Colleges recommend these partnerships so that workforce training can be taught.

    Maricopa Community colleges received a voter approved $386 million bond. Phoenix college received $36 million which was used in new construction and repairs.

    The International Genomics Consortium is a nonprofit genetic research group. The partnership allowed specialized training in MCC's 10 community colleges geared towards supporting this group. This was a big step in starting a trend toward other employer partnerships and a push towards specifical vocational training
