    Week 5
    The embryo grows from a tiny speck about 2mm - the size of a pin head, and the placenta is developing.

    Embryo is Growing! By the end of your first 6 weeks of pregnancy, your baby has a head and trunk, and is about 1/4 inch long (8 mm) and weighs a fraction of an ounce (or a few grams).
    MOther feels incredibly sleepy. Breasts might become tender and slightly larger by the fourth week.

    Mothers weight is not overwhelming as yet and she can feel the baby moving. The skin on your belly is stretching. This might lead to tightening and itching.
  • Week 26

    The baby measures 14 inches long and weighs over 1.7 pound, and the baby's eyes bein to open.
  • Month 6

    Month 6
    At 24 weeks, your baby can suck his thumb and you may feel baby hiccup. He will have patterns of sleep and activity which you will come to know. His skin has lost its translucent appearance.
    MOther's aerola (dark circles around the nipples) will get larger and darker. Her breasts grow larger consistently. It is likely that colostrum (a yellowish liquid) might leak from the breasts.

    The face is now smooth and getting a little chubby, as baby is laying on fat stores over the next weeks in preparation for life outside the womb. Baby is now facing head down.
    MOther may feel strain on your back leading to severe back pain. You may not be able to sleep properly because of the need to pee often.
  • Birth

    Birth
    A baby has been born after 9 months of being in thewomb.
  • Week 40

    Week 40
    You have now reached the time of delivery, all systems are developed and ready to go, head is about 4 cm in diameter and the contractions will begin.
  • Month 9

    Month 9
    Baby is now fully formed. Baby will gain weight at the rate of about an ounce per day during the last month before the birth. Your baby is getting fatter and its skin is less rumpled. He or she is getting ready for birth and is settling into the fetal position
    Mother feels nauseous, uneasy and lethargic. They might have terrible mood swings. They may keep crying incessantly, might feel depressed for no reason at all.
