Delaney Clause of Food, Drug, and cosmetic Act (US)
The Delaney clause is apart of the US food, drug, and cosmetic laws since it was enacted by congress in 1958. The law states that no cancer-causing agent, as demonstrated in humans or animals shall be deliberately added to, or found as a containment in food. -

The Endangered Species Act was put in place for protecting imperiled species. It provides framework to protect threatened and endangered species. -
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (US)
The act gives EPA the authority to control hazardous waste from cradle to grave. This includes the generation, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste. RCRA also set forth a framework for the management of non-hazardous solid waste. -
Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, Liability Act (US)
This act creates a federal "superfund" to help clean up unoccupied or abandoned areas where there is hazardous waste. Left unattended these accidents or spill could contaminate the environment. -
Montreal Protocol (INT)
A global agreement to protect the stratospheric ozone layer by phasing out the production and consumption of ozone-depleting substances such as CFC's. The protocol has successfully reduced emissions. -
Kyoto Protocol (INT)
The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement linked to the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change. It sets internationally binding emissions reduction targets for carbon dioxide and other green house gases.
