  • 1st Month

    1st Month
    -Makes jerky, quivering arm thrusts
    -Moves head from side to side while lying on stomach
    -Keeps hands in tight fists
  • 2nd Month

    2nd Month
    -Legs are straightening out, kicks are stronger
    -Movements become less jerky and more fluid
    -Baby's becoming more aware and playful with hands
  • 3rd Month

    3rd Month
    -Baby doesn't respond to loud sounds or the sound of your voice
    -Baby doesn't follow moving objects with eyes
    -Baby doesn't smile socially
  • 4th Month

    4th Month
    -Baby’s bringing his hand to his mouth and feeling objects with his mouth too.
    -Baby looks at things in the distance now, not just those close to him.
    -He’s listening to you talk and imitating you; you’re probably having little “chats.” Play peekaboo and make funny faces to get baby giggling.
  • 5th Month

    5th Month
    -He's reaching with both hands, grasping things and holding them using all his fingers.
    -Baby is fascinated by his hands and may have started bringing both of them together.
    -Starts learning about object permanence.
  • 6th Month

    6th Month
    -Able to sit up without support.
    -Begin to explore objects by putting them in their mouths.
    -Begin to pick up things by "raking" them with their fingers.
  • 7th Month

    7th Month
    -Able to roll both ways.(front and back)
    -Able to support weight with legs
    -Able to transfer objects from hand to hand.
  • 8th Month

    8th Month
    • Baby sees better close up than far away. -Better eyeball distance and depth -Touches everything
  • 9th Month

    9th Month
    -Can see well across the room.
    -Can easily recognize familiar faces and objects.
    -Able to stand with support from other objects.
  • 10th Month

    10th Month
    -Will protest if you take his/her toy away
    -Walk with you while holding hands
    -Play hand games and wave bye-bye
  • 11th Month

    11th Month
    -Will point at objects she recognizes.
    -May stand without support.
    -Can watch objects as they move more easily
  • 12 Month

    12 Month
    -Gets into sitting position without help
    -Pulls self up to stand
    -stands momentarily without support.
