    Prologue of WWII

    Before all of the events of WWII began we have to start our journey at the beginning of WWI where Germany was allies with Austro-Hungary and waged war against the Allies for 4 years until November 11th 1918. Leading on from the end of the war, Germany was blamed for the damages done to France and the Treaty of Versailles was unwillingly signed by Germany. This Treaty consisted of limiting Germany's Air Force, Navy and Army. That is but a few of the things the Allies took from Germany
  • BlitzKreig: The Lightning War

    BlitzKreig: The Lightning War
    Hitler soon became the all mighty power of German, he had complete and utter power of everything in Germany yet there was a part of Germany that was isolated from main part of Germany. This part of German land was surrounded by Poland, this made Hitler hatch a plan to take that land back by invading Poland and taking control of everything in it. The Plan was called Blitzkreig, literally meaning Lightning War.
  • Blitzkreig continued

    The whole plan was to get the German soldiers into Poland, invade them and Poland wouldn't be quick enough to sense that they were being invaded. Planes were sent in Poland first to destroy all the rail lines, communication centres and major rail links. They also had orders to destroy all the planes they saw because they Hitler didn't want retaliation from the Polish fighters. After planes came the tanks and then followed by motor bikes to quickly get on and off of roads.

    The Battle of the Atlantic

    This Battle spanned out for the whole war, this is because the Atlantic was the place both the Allies and the Axis wanted as all the countries needed things to be imported in, whether it be food or clothes it needs to imported into the country. Britain would be importing but the Germans were one step ahead as they were destroying the ships that were importing them in. The American Airforce and the RAF were fighting over the Atlantic to get dominance but it lasted for the whole war.
  • Dunkirk: Was it worth it?

    Before the events of Dunkirk beach, Germany entered France on May 12th, 1940. Britain being Allies with France were there to try and fight back the German army but they were using the same tactics that they used on Poland; Blitzkrieg, to make France surrender. By 27th the resistance of the Allies were pushed back to Dukirk beach and there was a mass rescue of the British soldiers nearly 300,000 troops were rescued by ships.
  • The Battle Of Britain

    Hitler called the Operation to take Britai, "Operation Sealion". The first stage was taking the German airforce throught the Channel but they were intercepted by the RAF but these German Planes were very advanced compared to the RAF planes. The Battle of Britain lasted for moths on end and Hitler found out that the RAF were using radars to see where the German planes were so they decided to just bomb Britain to scare the people.

    War in Africa
    The war was fought in the North of Africa, when Italian troops joined the Axis alliance and quickly tried to take the English occupied area of Libya/Egypt. Both sides fought against each other, back and forth, in the Libyan-Egyption boarder known as The Western Desert. Germany, seeing that Italy and Britian mught be in a never ending war, joined and pushed British, Austrailian and Canadian troops back to the boarder of Egypt.

    Operation Barbarossa was a huge military operation in which American,Canadian, British and French troops tried to take back France by attacking the German Occupied France from different beaches of the country.This took 5 months, 1 week and 6 days to carry out the whole operation.
  • Pearl Harbour

    Pearl Harbour
    Pearl harbour was a major Japanese attack onto the coastal regions of Pearl Harbour where the major Naval base of America was put. The Japanese attacked many of the Harbour's ships and destroyed them but this was in vain as the Americans could build ships like there nothing.

    This is the military operation where the Americans invaded Normandy, the North of France, to try and take back France and drive back the Germans.
  • The Droppings of the Atomic Bombs

    The Droppings of the Atomic Bombs
    After everything had finished in the Battle of Europe, there was only one battle that hadn't finished. The Battle between America and Japan. To not lose any men the Americans decided to drop devistating bombs that would leave nuclear damage and end the war completely, This was the final move of the war.
