  • Hitler invades czech

    Against what hitler singed at the Treaty of Munich. He proceeds to march on czechoslavaikia. The attack started by occuping the northern and western borders. THe attack begin with a blitzkreg type of warfare. Czechoslavakia didnt last long.
  • Russia and Germany sign pact

    Russia and Germany sign a non-aggresion pact. This ensures that neither country can attack the other. This pact includes secrets about what Germany and Russia will do with Poland.
  • Hitler Invades Poland

    On September 1, 1939, Germany invaded Poland. The Polish army was defeated within weeks of the invasion. From East Prussia and Germany in the north and Silesia and Slovakia in the south, German units, with more than 2,000 tanks and over 1,000 planes, broke through Polish defenses along the border and advanced on Warsaw in a massive encirclement attack.
  • Hitler attacks Russia

    Operation Barbosa, called for the capture of Moscow within four months.The Russians were advancing with pace, however the Soviets held their ground. The Soviets constructed three defensive belts and deployed reserve armies to help defend Moscow. As German offenses were halted, the Soviets launched a counter-attack and surrounded German armies in Oryol, Vyazma, and Vitebsk. This main result of this battle was a decisive Soviet victory.
  • Battle of Britain

    After the defeat of France in June 1940, Germany moved to gain air superiority over Great Britain as a prelude to an invasion of Britain. Despite months of air attacks, Germany was not able to destroy Britain's Royal Air Force (RAF). In the fall of 1940, the invasion was indefinitely postponed. The German bombing campaign against Britain continued until May 1941. The Germans ultimately halted the air attacks primarily because of preparations for the invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941.

  • Battle Of Midway

    It was regarded as the most important naval battle of the Pacific campaign in WW2. It took place between the Americans and the Empire of Japan. It ended in an American victory; this was a turning point in the Battle of the Pacific. During this time, Germany was controlling the West and Japan was controlling the East. The Axis groups were very strong, but this victory by the Americans changed the momentum in the war.
  • D-Day

    The invasion was launched on June 6, 1944. Ships ferrying 150 000 American, British, and Canadian troops crossed the channel to Normandy. German defenders were taken almost completely by surprise. British tanks crushed German bunkers and cleared paths through minefields.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    The Allied forces were advancing towards Germany, pushing the Germans back town by town and believing the war to be almost won. But this was Hitler’s last attempt to stop the momentum. His aim was to advance through the wooded area of the Ardennes in Luxembourg and Belgium and cut the Allied armies in two and then push on towards the port of Antwerp, a vital Allied stronghold.

    Hitler ultimatley accepts defeat and commites suciside via cyanide pill. He goes out with his two dogs in a german bunker underneath a building in Berlin.
