EARLY LIFE
William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom. His exact date of birth is not known—the baptismal record was dated 26 April 1564—but has been traditionally taken to be 23 April 1564. He was the first son and the first surviving child in the family; two earlier children, had died early. -

EDUCATION
Shakespeare started school at the age of 5.Shakespeare had received a grammar school education from "The King Edward VI School at Stratford".Shakespeare may have been forced to leave school as early as at the age 13, because of his father's financial crisis. There is no record of Shakespeare attending university. -

MARRIED LIFE
William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway in November 1582 and they remained married until Shakespeare's death. When they got married Shakespeare was 18 whereas, Anne was 26 . Anne and William's first daughter, Susanna, was born six months after their marriage, and they would go on to have twins Judith and Hamnet a few years later. -
CAREER
William moves to London and begins his Theatrical career.Sometime between 1585 and 1592, he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and part-owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain's Men. -

SHAKESPEARE'S POETIC OUTPUT
In 1593-4, with the theatres closed, Shakespeare wrote lengthy poems: Venus and Adonis and The Rape of Lucrece dedicated to Henry Wriothesley, Earl of Southampton, who was nineteen in 1593. -
WILLIAM AS FONDING MEMBER OF LORD CHAMBERLAIN'S MEN
When the theatres re-opened in 1594, Shakespeare is recorded as being part of a new company, organised by James Burbage and under the patronage of Queen Elizabeth’s Lord Chamberlain (and hence known as The Lord Chamberlain’s Men). They performed at a playhouse called The Theatre, in which Shakespeare had a financial share.
It is not surprising that in Hamlet Shakespeare shows such knowledge of acting and of companies of players. -
WILLIAM'S ONLY SON DIES
Hamnet died at the age of 11 and was buried in Stratford-upon-Avon on 11 August 1596. The cause of his death is unknown.
Shakespeare had four grandchildren who all died without heirs, so there are no direct descendants of his line today. -
BUILDS THE FAMOUS GLOBE THEATRE
The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare's playing company, the Lord Chamberlain's Men.
Probably the first Shakespeare play to be performed at the Globe was Julius Caesar, in 1599. Some other Shakespeare plays first performed there are: As You Like It; Hamlet; Measure for Measure; Othello; King Lear; Macbeth and Antony and Cleopatra. -

WILLIAM DEPARTS THIS LIFE
Shakespeare dies and is buried in Holy Trinity Church, Stratford.It was unusual for anyone to be buried inside the church (rather than in the surrounding graveyard), and Shakespeare managed this by buying a tithe deed for £440 which gave him the right to have a grave in the chancel of the church, to have his final resting place alongside other family members.
