  • French + Indian War

    1. Fought between England and France.
    2. Fought over land in North America.
    3. It started over an indian (lead by George Washington) killed a French Officer.
  • Treaty of Paris

    1. Ended the French and Indian war.
    2. Britain claimed all the land east of the Mississippi.
    3. England was determined to win the war.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    1. Britain didnt let the colonist settle west of the Appalachian so they sent troops to "protect' the colonist.
    2. Britain was mad at the colonist because they didnt pay for their protection.
    3. This was the first time the colonist were mad at England.
  • Sugar Act

    1. It was the first tax on goods that Britain placed on the colonies.
    2. They placed it on the colonies so they could get out their debt from the French and Indian war.
    3. It was a tax on sugars
  • STAMP ACT

    1. It was a tax placed in paper and paper products.
    2. The tax made the colonist mad so they boycotted all paper goods.
    3. As a result of the boycott the Brittish government gets rid of the act.

    1. It gave British soliders the right to live in colonist house. 2.It was suposed to save the british government.

    3. He captures 800 Hessians without losing one man.

    1. Washington captures 300 Brittish soliders.
    2. The patriots win.
    3. Washingtons troops force the Brittish soliders to surrender.

    1. It is considered the turning point of the Revolution.
    2. Burgoyne surrendered his army to the americans.
    3. The Americans were soon joined in the war by France and Spain.

    1. Washington and his men spent the winter here.
    2. His troops needed warm clothes and food.
    3. Many people died there.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    1. Washington had set a trap for Cornwallis and his troops.
    2. When Cornwallis went to leave in his ships a French fleet of ships came in keeping him trapped.
    3. Cornwallis eventually surrenders leaveing the Americans in victory of the war.
