CVS Store Manager
I was promoted to CVS store manager and realized how much I disliked that job. I knew that I didn't want to be unloading trucks and working nights and weekends for the next 40 years. My husband supported my decision to step down within the company and ultimately my decision to pursue a teaching career. -

One of the reasons behind choosing teaching as a career is because of the fexibility and time off that the kids get. I knew that I would have a child someday and wanted to be available for him. I took about 10 years, part-time to complete my undergrad degree and certification because I wanted to stay home with my son until he entered 1st grade. -

I completed my degree and my social studies certification at this time and began looking for a job. Apparently there were many others in the same boat as I was, social studies teachers with little to no experience looking for jobs. A few months later is when I accepted a job as an instructional assistant. -
Started at Rivier for Master's Degree
After 2 unsuccessful years of obtaining a teaching job, I decided that I needed to expand my qualifications. So I enrolled at Rivier College in the Graduate program in order to obtain my elementary ed certification and Master's Degree.
