    The goddess of Discord, Eris, was angry she wasn't invited to the wedding of King Peleus so she throws a golden apple marked "For the fairest". Paris was to decide between Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite who was the fairest and he chose Aphrodite because she promised Paris the most beautiful woman in the world which was Helen.

    Paris kidnaps Helen and takes her away with him to Troy.

    Preparing for War

    Menelaus begins to form an army to invade Troy with his brother, Agamemnon as commander in chief. Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and Achilles, son of Peleus and Thetis, are two of the many that join the army.

    In order to calm the winds and set sail for Troy, Agamemnon must sacrifice his daughter. He does so and the Greeks set sail for Troy.

    Prostesilaus is the first to land ashore and dies by a Trojan spear.

    Achilles is dishonored by Agamemnon and Agamemnon attacks Troy without Achilles.

    Paris fights Menelaus

    Paris and Menelaus fight over Helen. Menelaus wins easily and Paris runs away.

    Battle breaks out

    Battle breaks out after a stray arrow is fired. With Achilles gone, the Greeks best fighters are Ajax and Diomedes. Diomedes spears Ares when he tries to enter the battle and Ares runs away. Hector drives the Greeks back to their ships.

    Hera tricks Zeus

    Hera distracts Zeus into not helping the Trojans. Zeus then comes back to his senses and the Trojans are once again at an advantage.

    Patroclus dies

    Patroclus enters the battle disguised as Achilles and Hector kills him.

    Achilles enters the battle
    Achilles is angered and enters the battle, killing Hector and dragging his body around in his chariot.

    King Priam retrieves Hector's body

    King Priam goes to Achilles' tent and retrieves Hector's body. A funeral is given to him.

    Achilles' Death

    Achilles' kill Prince Memnon, a great warrior. Right after, Paris shoots an arrow which Apollo guided into Achilles' heel, his only weak spot. Achilles died instantly.

    Achilles' armor is given to Odysseus. This angers Ajax who Athena made mad and he slaughters a bunch of cattle and then kills himself.

    The Greeks capture a Trojan prophet named Calchas who tells the Greeks that they can't win without the bow of Hercules.

    Bow of Hercules
    The Greeks go and retrieve the bow of Hercules from Philoctetes, whom the Greeks had left to die on an island earlier.

    Philoctetes wounds and kills Paris with the bow of Hercules.

    Odysseus's plan

    Odysseus's plan
    Odysseus comes up with a plan for the Greeks to get within the Trojan walls. The greeks would build a giant wooden horse filled with greek soldiers. The rest of the greek army would hide elsewhere. A greek soldier will be left behind to convince the Trojans to let the greeks in. Once the horse gets into the gates, the soldiers inside will open the gates allowing the soldiers outside to come in and take the city.
