    1766-1844
    .Date of theory 1803
.His major contribution was his theory on atoms which consisted of 5 parts stating that matter is composed of super small particles called atoms, atoms are indivisible and indestructable, atoms of a given element are identical in size, mass, and chemical properties, atoms of specific elements are different than those of other elements, and in a chemical reaction, atoms separate,
combine and/or rearange. He made alot of observations based off his results.

    1856-1940
.Date of discovery, or theory made 1897
.Major contribution, he created the cathode ray. the cathode ray is a tube that when a high velocity current is sent through it and the atoms hit the outside of the tube and it glows.
.Used expiermentation through the cathode ray, but he observed the outcome and used it to help him better understand atomics.

    MAX PLANCK by google images
    1858-1947
.Major contribution was he was the founder of quantum theory, which is the physics behind atoms and subatomic particles.
    .Date of discovery 1900
.He used various forms of mathematicas and by observing which worked and made sense he came up with the quantum theory.

    ALBERT EINSTEIN by google images
    1879-1855
.Date of discovery, or theory made 1905 (theory of relativity)
.Major contributions, the theory of relativity, this was basically saying two objects moving at great speeds with respect to each other will have different measurements of length and time intervals made in each others systems.
.Did both observation and expiermentation to find his theories.
  • NEILS BOHR by google images

    NEILS BOHR by google images
    1885-1962
    .Date of discovery 1913
.Major contribution, he created what he thought was the structure of an atom. He believed the electrons orbitited around the nucleus like the planets around the sun. This was called the Bohr model.
.He figured came to this clonclusion through both expiermentation and obsevation.
.Problems with theory, Scientist later discovered that instead of the electrons orbiting around the nucleus in an orderly fashion, they actually are in what is called an electron cloud.
  • ERNEST RUTHERFORD by google images

    ERNEST RUTHERFORD by google images
    1871-1937
.Date of discovery, or theory made 1917
.Major contribution did his famous gold foil expierment, which was shooting atoms into extremely thin gold foil and seeing where the surrounding circular wall hit. This is how he discoverd protons.
.He mostly expiermented with his projects
  • JAMES CHADWICK by google images

    JAMES CHADWICK by google images
    1891-1974
.Major contributions, discoverd the nuetron. made a important area for the study of nuclear physics.

    .Date of discovery 1932.
.He did tons of research on physics to find the nuetron mostly gathering answers by observation.

    ENRICO FERMI by google images
    1901-1954
.Major contributions, worked on the chicago pile 1, the worlds first artificial nuclear reactor. He assisted in the making of the atomic bomb during the manhattan project. He also contributed to development of quantum theory and nuclear and particle physics
    .Date 1942
.observation and expiermentation were used to make the atomic bomb, chigaco pile 1.
