    On January 30th, 1933, Adolf HItler was chosen to be chancellor of Germany. A chancellor is the leader or the head of the government. This starts the begining of the Holocaust.

    First Concentration Camp
    The first concentration camp is made in Dachau Germany. This is the very first concentration camp made. This camp was made after Hitler was elected chancellor. This camp was made for political prisoners.
  • Hitler Declares Himself President

    Hitler Declares Himself President
    Adolf Hitler now declars himself as President of Germany and Chancellor. Now all the armed forces must swear to him and his ruling. This happened after the death of Paul Von Hindenburg.

    No Jews SIgns are posted
    On May 1, 1935, Germans started posted signs that said "No Jews." They placed these signs all of the towns including restaurants, shops, towns, and villages. Later, the signs started to state the restrictions Jews had.

    The Nuremburg Laws are made
    The Nuremburg laws were laws made in 1935. They deprived Jews of their citizenship and rights. These laws encluded that Jews could not many other Germans, Jews could not have any relationships with Germans, and Jews are not aloud to be German citizens.

    Doctors are banned from working on patients
    On March 3, 1936, Germany said that Jewish doctors were not aloud to treat or practice medicine. They were also not aloud to treat anyone in government institutions. Jewish Doctors would treat other Jewish people in secret.

    The Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp was built in the summer of 1936 by concentration camp prisoners from the Emsland camps. Just north of Berlin, Sachsenhausen was one of the most famous death camps. The camp is sometimes referred to as Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg. Sachsenhausen was established in 1936 soon after Heinrich Himmler 'Reichsführer SS' was appointed to the post of 'head of the German police’.     Buchenwald concentration camp opens
    The Burchenwald Concentration Camp was the third camp established. This camp was the largest camp opened during the Holocaust. It is estimated that about 56,000 people were killed at this Concentration camp.

    At this camp more than 96,000 prisoners passed through aut 30,000 died. This camp was for men who were criminals and strong. The camp's site was chosen so that the prisoners could be used as slaves to carry granite found near the site.

    Munich synagogue destroyed
    The Nazis sestroy this synagogue. They destroy it by burning it o the ground. They did this because they did not like the Jews or anything they did or believed in.

    Kristallnacht
    On this day over thousands of synagogues and Jewish businesses and homes were damaged or destroyed. This night was called Kristakknacht or the Night of Broken Glass. They called it this because of how many windows and doors had been destroyed.

    Now Germans are forcing Jews in Poland to sew and wear a yellow Star of David on their chest so that can be easily seen or spotted. If someone whould see anyone wearing the Star of David they would no not to talk to them or let them have any rights. The star of David was also called the Shield of David.

    Auschwitz Camp is opened
    Auschwitz Camp was the largest of the German concentration camps. It was located nearby the Polish town of Oshwiecim in Galacia. It included three main camps auschwitz one, two, and three.

    Neuengamme Camp Opens
    As with other concentration camps, this camp did not provide very much food, shelture, or medicine. Along with the horrible living conditions, the prisoners would also recieve beatings and punishmments. In the winter of 1944-1945, 1,700 prisoners died each month. In February 1945 , about 2,500 prisoners died.

    This camp was a Nazi extermination camp. At least 152,000 people were killed in the camp. Most of the prisoners were killed with gas vans, or vans that they would fill with prisoners and insert gas to make them all die.

    Mass-Gassing was another method the Nazi's used to kill a great amount of Jews at one time. The Nazi's would used carbon monoxide for these gassings. They would kill over 100 people at one time.
  • Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

    Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
    An order was issued to empty the Warsaw Ghetto and deport the inmates to Treblinka. Following the deportation of some Warsaw Jews, news leaked back to those remaining in the Ghetto of mass killings.A group of about 750 mainly young people decided that they had nothing to lose by resisting deportation. Using weapons smuggled into the Ghetto they fired on German troops who tried to round up inmates for deportation.They held out for nearly a month before they were taken by the Nazis and killed.

    Many remaining camps were closed and evidence of their existence destroyed. Those who had survived the camps so far were taken on forced Death Marches. These marches were a very fearful experience.
  • Hitler Kills Himself

    Hitler Kills Himself
    Hitler commited suicide by shooting himself in one of their sheltures. Not long after Hitler commited suicide, his wife, Eva, commites suicide too. He shot himself in the right temple.
  • The war ends

    The war ends
    Now, the war is over and so is the horrible event of the Holocaust. The Holocaust ended because other countries moved in after the death od Hitler becuase many of the other leaders went into hiding becuase of fear and terror. Now the surving victims of the Holocaust are set free and the dead are being burried.

    Nuremberg war trial began
    Surviving Nazi leaders were put on trial at Nuremberg. 22 Nazi Leaders were put on trial at Nuremberg. 19 of those leaders were convicted. 9 were sentenced to death and 10 received a life sentence.
