    At this time the french economy was failing. King Louis XVI was desperate for things to go back to the way they use to be. So he decides to call the Estates General.

    Third Estates forms National Assembly & takes Tennis Court Oath
    The Third Estate was the only estates that had to pay taxes. When the Third Estate had enough of not being treated fairly, they decided to declare themselves as The National Assembly. On this date, the National Assembly met at an indoor court. Here, they swore an oath never to disband until they had written a new consitution for France.

    In mid July, Frances umeployment rate was 25%. The price of bread sky rocked and this left many families without food and also angry at the king. The Kings troops were going after Paris. Angry crowds searched for weapons at the Bastille. 98 people died which inspired peasants to rise up against their lords.

    After Bastilles was taken, hunger and unemployment still increased. This caused the women to protest against it. They marched to Versailles to demand bread. The women invaded the palace, killing serveral guards.

    King Louis XVI and Gueen Marie Antoinette both lost their powers during the French Revolution. King Louis XVI died due to him going back to paris with the women, promising them bread and food, but eventually got beheaded. Marie Antoinette as well, being captured and kept as a prisoner by the women.

    Maximilien Robespierre started a new revolutionary government and courts, which tried citizens for treason against the revolution. Ordinary people rose up against ruling classes. Roberpierre killed anyone and everyone who he thought was trying to rebel against him. He did this because he was afraid of losing his power. 40,00 people were executed by guillotine for treason.

    Maximlien Robespierre started the Reign of Terror whicjh killed thousands of people for 'Treason'. Other people got tired of him and eventually he was beheaded.
