  • NJ State Tax Increase

    New Jersey state sales tax increased support to education. Aid increased from $200 to $400 per student and minimum aid support increased from $50 to $75 per student. State aid for special education increased from $18 million in 1967 to $87 million in 1975.
  • NJ Educational Technology Plan Developed

    A Plan for Action is developed. This five-year plan aims to become the statewide strategy for the effective and equitable utilization of technology in the classroom.
  • Cisco Systems Integration at CPHS

    A Networking Academy that helps students prepare for industry-standard certifications, entry-level careers in IT Fields, and higher education in engineering, computer science, information systems, and related fields.
  • Creation of the Electronic Media Center at CPHS

    The Electronic Media Center provides students with a resource rich environment and contains approximately thirty computer workstations, a color copy machine, an overhead projector and wireless speakers, in addition to over a thousand books, periodicals, and research documents.
  • PowerSchool Education and GradeBook Software

    Computer program that allows teachers to document student rosters, attendance, grades, etc. Is the way teachers submit progress reports and report cards digitally.
  • Panasonic Learning Program

    Grant from Panasonic to install touch screen televisions in some classrooms. The televisions can connect to computers and project an image on both screens. It allows teachers to access websites, online videos, online documents, etc. and show them on a large screen.
  • Hudson County Schools of Technology becomes a “Google District”

    No longer using district servers to store staff and student documents and switching to Google’s App Platform, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, etc.
