    Airplanes in WWI
At the start of the WWI, aircraft like the B.E.2 were primarily used for reconnaissance. Due to the static nature of trench warfare, aircraft were the only means of gathering information beyond enemy trenches, so they were essential for discovering where the enemy was based and what they were doing. The discovery of airplanes completely changed wars from not only ground battle but ground battle and air fights.

The final blow in WWII was also struck by aircraft when atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There were 3 major types of planes used in World War II including fighters, bombers, and transport planes. Fighter planes are designed for air-to-air combat Having airplanes allowed soldiers to take out large amounts of enemies by dropping bombs and missles from the sky

    Airplanes in Vietnam War
During the Vietnam War, thousands of U.S. aircraft were lost to antiaircraft artillery, air missiles, and fighter interceptors. South Vietnam's army lost 2,500 aircraft and helicopters, excluding UAVs (including 1,018 aircraft and helicopters lost from January 1964 to September 1973). The more futuristic developments of the airplane allowed airplanes not only to be used for war but to transport important goods and people. The US also came out with something recently called the Flying Wing Jet.
