Sometimes called a "digital wireless phone" not only process the sound digitally, they actually receive and transmit the audio as a digital signal via radio waves. This was the start of an era where people would be able to do work on the go simply by making calls on their cell phones and not have to wait in an office for a call or stay stuck somewhere to receive a call back.

    the World Wide Web
    Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist, invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1989, while working at CERN. The web was originally conceived and developed to meet the demand for automated information-sharing between scientists in universities and institutes around the world. This has drastically changed the information exchange game across the world. People were able to receive and deliver information without having to use a middle man postal service to deliver hard copies.

    Adobe Photoshop
    Photoshop 1.0 was officially released in February 1990 and was the first time the software was made available to the public as a standalone product (rather than bundled with a Barneyscan scanner). It was also the first time the software was released commercially with the brand name Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop was a unique tool that helped form a career pathway for graphic designers.

    The game-changing PlayStation sported a sleek design and CD format, meaning games were bigger, 3D-capable and with superior sound to what came before it. Within a decade, PlayStation became the first games console in history to sell over 100 million units worldwide. This was a form of entertainment but also, it opened up the world of gaming that we know today. Now some games where there is active PvP (player vs player) are considered a form of sport which is broadcasted

    is a family of wireless networking technologies, based on the IEEE 802.11 family of standards, which are commonly used for local area networking of devices and Internet access. Wi‑Fi is a trademark of the non-profit Wi-Fi Alliance, which restricts the use of the term Wi-Fi Certified to products that successfully complete interoperability certification testing. Wifi has helped many people in accessing information while away from home or any other grounded connection site.

    The BlackBerry 5810 was the first BlackBerry phone released by RIM and the first BlackBerry OS 3.6 device. The phone was released in 2002 and needed a headset to call people with because it didn't have a speaker built in. This was the start of where the smartphone would take the world by the hand. Nowadays there is almost no one in the working class that does not have a smartphone.
