    Christopher Columbus was an explorer for Spain. Although he sailed for Spain, he was born in a small town in Italy called Genoa. He traveled to Portugal for supplies. They disagreed so he went to Spain. Greedy for wealth, Spain agreed to supply ships and food to the crew. Columbus was trying to find the "Northwest Passage" Or a sailing pathway to India from Europe that wasn't as far. He believed he found India, but in reality he landed first in the bahamas.     Simon Bolivar's Birth
    Simon Bolivar was born in Caracas, New Granada, or what is now Venezuela. He was born into a very rich family. His father, Juan Vicente Bolívar and Ponte, was a Venezuelan politician while his mother, María de la Concepción Palacios y Blanco, helped around the house by cooking, cleaning and sewing (school.eb.com). Simon was only 4 when his father died, and only 9 when his mother died (historymole.com). This left him with his uncle and his tutors that taught him schoolwork.

Living in Venezuela was having a toll on the young brides body, as the water conditions were not very good and she was more susceptible to disease considering she was born in Europe.     Simon Bolivar was always interested in war tactics, even as a young boy. Growing up, his father taught him a few battle strategies while he was alive. (school.eb.com) This peaked Bolivar's interest and caused him to seek more. His tutor also got him interested in the power of leadership by teaching him about be means of the Enlightenment in Europe. All of this combined to make Bolivar's pasion, to join an army and free his people. (Thackeray 27)

    Bolivar was one of the main generals in the wars for independence in Venezuela. The Venezuelans were fighting from freedom from Spain and its king, Joseph I (Hoobler 23). Bolivar did most of his part in these wars in planning next moves and attacks. He also was a diplomat sent to England for aid and supplies. Although this failed, he was able to coax England to leave the colony be if it ever was to become independent (school.eb.com). During this period he became well known as a strong leader.

    He returns from exile and immediately takes his position back as general. He then leads an army of mestizos and many other ethnicities against the Spaniards. He defeats them in all places north of Chile and south or Mexico. There are many major battles along the way and he gets a little help from fellow liberator Jose de San Martin (school.eb.com). These won areas all follow victory with a declaration of independence. Bolivar is a hero. The country of Bolivia is named after him.

This document tells the citizens of Venezuela that their general is still alive and is unequivocally dedicated to the cause of the revolution

They votes\ Bolivar to be king of a vast country. But he declines, due to his want for relaxation after the war and the growing civil war in the area.     Bolivar dies at a very young age due to Tuberculosis. This was vastly incurable at the time and would remain to be for years (school.eb.com). It was a tragic loss to one of the best generals in history. His name will ever be hailed by the name of one of the countries that he freed, Bolivia. During his last months of his life, he tried to help establish a stable government for the new countries. He died in Colombia with his brothers and many other friends beside him.

    Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States of America. Lincoln was elected into a poor situation with America on the brink of civil war. He was the president who was the cause of the confederacy to officially start the war, but also the end of it by making slavery illegal.So, not everyone agreed with his ideas. One of these people including John Booth, the man who killed the President while he was watching a play (history.com).Booth was later caught and sentenced to death.

About 1,500 of these poor passengers lost their lives in the early hours of April 15, 1912.     The Bolshevik Revolution was a very large movement in Russia during the 20th century. The bond between the czar (leader) of Russia and his people had broken. Many of the Russian ethnic groups started to groups started to grow agitated over what czar Nicholas II was doing to Russia. Under a leader, Vladimir Lenin, they rioted against the government and toppled to czar from his throne. Lenin became ruler after this major change (britannica.com).

    World War II started due to the uprising German empire along with it's strong allies. They wanted more land to help their economy, but the more pressing matter was Hitler, the german dictator, wanting to "purify" the world of jewish, disabled, homosexual, gypsies, etc. (history.com). Opposing this nonsense were the allies. This included, most of Europe, Russia, Canada and the United States. Eventually Hitler's army was ended by the Russians and the Treaty of Westphalia was signed.
