THe Gunners,from Arsenal, won a men's soccer game against the Serbians in Belgrade. THey suprised everyone by taking the lead in the last 15 minutes. -
People returning in Kovosco
Kovosco recently gained independence from Serbia. They are struggling with pressures to accept people who are returning to their country. A large number of Gypsies are, for example. Accepting people is a pressure because of their problems with education, healthcare, and social benefits. -
Rock band concert
There was a rock band in Belgrade. Kiki Lesenoric and Piloti are two of the members. They are a very famous pop-rock band in Serbia. THey became famous in the 1980s in Yugoslavia. -
Gay pride rally
There was a gay pride rally in downtown Belgrade. THe U.S. Embassy Belgrade sent out a waron warning U.S. Cititzens that the event might be violent and to be extra cautious. There was violence during the event. -
Criminal law
During the gay pride parade ther was much violence. And there was fear of violence at the soccer game Partizan v. Red Star. THerefore goverment ammended crimminal law making harsher penalties for hooliganism, brawls,destructive, and agressive behaivior. -
55th international Belgrade book fair
The Materials Research Society of Serbia gave a presentation on their research with are know published books. Some of the topics they covered were physics, biomaterial, and nuclear science. The research was done with a purpose to improve technologies, communication, transportation, and health. -
Eathquake in Killeo
The Earthquake had a magnitude of 5.3, which is pretty strong. It was felt throughout the country even in Belgrade. THere was much destruction to the city and two people were killed. -

Draft national action plan for women peace and security
The plan was was debated in a national assembly and it concerned the republic of Serbia. THey Discussed planning, ideas, and clasified resourses for the cause. The cause was promoting women participation in decesion making, peace progress, protection of women and girls, sexual violence in war, and gender trainning. The UK, Aulstralia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Chile, Iceland and many other countries have also adopted this plan. -

The economic situation in Serbia is not doing very well. There way a survey taken to try to make steps towards action. To provide families with being more economically stable and they some have been provided with housing. -

In 1999 two police were accused of killing three americans who crossed border illegally. Nothing was done about it there was not enough evidence. Know they are reopening case. there are concerns of unites states that no one has been punished. -

The Drina river in serbia started to overflow in december in western Serbia including Belgrade. About 300 homes and 1,400 residents were somehow effected by the flood. -

The presentations called "Whose Rights are Human Rights?” perdform skits at Belgrade High school to show how hurtful discrimination and unequality can be and how it is embedded in our culture. This is funded by the European union. -

The Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Standing Conference of Towns met to mark the completion of the competitivness project. This helped competition. -

Gender violence
The goverment of Serbia came up with a plan to combat the large amount of physical, sexual, and economical violance. %4 percent of women in Serbia have reported being a victim of one of these. And there is so much that goes on that is not reporteed. -
Autisim awarness day
The secretary-general of Serbia gave a message on what a big problem Autism is. And how it is hard to get support and they are discriminated much against. -
Trainning for Recovery
Serbian officials recieved trainning for what to do when there is a natural disaster. And in the past including this year there has been an earthquake. -
UNDP funds
United Nations development Program trained 60 people about the UE funds available for nature protection and other areas. -
Journalists and gender based violence
10 journalists were trainned in reporting sexual based violence. There are 4 more sessions. And it was funded by the Norwegian ministry and apart of UNDP. -

The armed forced in Yugoslav and Serbia were apart of fifteen peace mission since 1956. They have a military museum for this. -
