Dear Delilah, The Proclamation of 1763 was a great move for us colonists. First, Britain decided to ban all colonists from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. We fought for the land so we have the right to live where ever. The Indians felt that we colonists would make them leave their homes as we expanded. Finally Britain understood that we would not respect the boundary without some enforcement. -
The Sugar Act
Sugar ActThis is an article of the Sugar Act on April 5th, 1764. The parliament passed a modified version of the sugar act (1733) which was about to expire. Under the molasses act colonial merchants had been required to pay a tax of six pence per gallon on the importation of foreign molasses. This hurt the British West Indies market in molasses and sugar and the market for rum, which the colonies had been producing quantity with the cheeper French molasses. -
The Stamp Act
Dear John,
Mother says that I can only send you letters every two month instead of every month, becasuse the Stamp Act. It started March 22.You probably heard of it. How do you feel about it? I dont like it. I think that it is not right that we need stamps on everything. Even though the cost is small, it adds up to a lot. It's not even that it is expensive, its the bar it raises. We are British citizens, but we dont get treated the same. Write back soon.

The Quartering Act
Quartering ActDear Juliet,
Several regulations are made and enacted for the better goverment of the army and their observing script discipline. In March 1765 Parliament passed the Quartering act to adress the practical concerns of such a troop deployment. Under the terms of this legislation each colony assembly was directed to provide for the basic needs of soldiers stationed within the borders. How do you feel about this? Please write back.

The Townshend Acts
Townshend ActsThe Townshend Acts accomplished four things. One act suspended the New York legislature until it complied with the Quartering Act of 1765, which required legislatures to house and provide supplies to British troops stationed in the colonies. Another act imposed import duties on tea, lead, paper, paint, and glass, while a third act allowed tea to be imported to the colonies free of the taxes that were levied in Great Britain. -
The Boston Massecre

The past few days it has been crazy. I still can't believe what happened. Paul Revere drew a picture of it, but because mother tought me how to read and write I know the whole story. On the 5th, there was a mob, I hear they were fighting about jobs. There were people crouded around screaming and yelling, and all of a sudden there was gunshots and smoke. It is now called the Bloody Massacre, or the Boston Massacre, 5 people died, and sadly, don't think this chaos is over. -
The Tea Act

They recently approved the tea act by the British Parliament on May 10, 1773. It taxes three pence for every pound of tea, No one is pleased, in fact, everyoneis over raged, I think people are going to do something bad. i'm scared that if we do do something that the British Parliament will do something worse, The British Parliament taxed everyones favorite drink, it is scary to think about what they will do next.

The Boston Tea Party
Boston Tea PartyThe Boston Tea Party was consisted of Patriots led by Samuel Adams also known as the Sons of Liberty. The Sons of Liberty was made up of males all over the classes of colonial society. The group contained artisans, craftsmen, business owners, tradesmen, apprentices, and common laborers. A group of 5,000 gathered together to decide what was to be done for the Boston Tea Party. -
The Coercive/Intolerable Acts
Intolerable ActsThe Coercive or Intolerable Acts was a name to describe the many acts that were passed after the Boston Tea Party, The british started the Coercive or Intolerable Acts because of what the colonists did, they went onto boats dressed as Mohawk Indians and dumped the tea into the water to show that the acts are unfair. Then, to show that the colonists did not have all the control, they made four new taxes. -
The First Continental Congress
The First Continental CongressIn Carpenter's Hall. Carpenter's Hall is in Philadelphia, from September 5, to October 26, 1774. Except Georgia, all the colonies sent delegates elected by the people. Peyton Randolph was the head of the convention. The first few weeks were used on debate, and on October 14, the Congress decided that they would meet the next year if England did not respond or change their ways. -
Paul Revere's Ride
Paul Revere's RidePaul Revere's ride is one of the events of the Revolutionary War that lives on in the minds of millions of Americans as an example of the difference that one man can make. In 1774 and the spring of 1775 he was employed by the boston committee of correspondence and the Massechusettes committee of safety. Paul Revere was a contributor to the Revolutionary war because he warned people that the red coats were coming. -
Lexington And Concord
Lexington and ConcordThe first shots which started the Revolutionary War took place at Lexington, Massachusettes. A British general Thomas Gage sent 700 soldiers to destroy the colonist guns and ammunition. Dr. Joseph Warren sent Paul Revere to alert John Hancock and Samuel Adams of British plans. Lexington and Concord was important because it was the start of our freedom.
