Revolutionary timeline

  • French and Indian war

    A global conflict that started in Europe and ended up in America.
    Involving countries such as, Britain, France, Prussia, and many others.
  • Proclaimation of 1763

    This proclaimation stated that there is no British colonisation west of the Appalachians.
    Patriots thought it was to better control them, but Brititsh claim it was to reduce Indeginous conflict.
  • Sugar act

    This was the Act that overtaxed sugar products such as mollasses, which is used to make whiskeys and rum. The ratio of money to sugar was 6 pence to every gallon of mollasses
  • writs of assistance

    This allowed any official to search ships or other forms of transportation for anything that would go against regulation.
    This induced smuggling amoungst the colonies.
  • Townshed Acts

    This was the overtaxing of glass, paper, lead, paint, etc. This idea was rejected by patriots, but inforced by the loyalists.
  • Boston Massacre

    This was the event in which a troop of British soldiers fired into a crowd of unarmed colonists. Crispus Attucks was a such colonist.
    No one knows how the conflict started, or who called "FIRE!", but it angered the colonists, thanks to Paul Revere.
  • Quartering Acts

    This allowed any British soldier to take refuge in any household he chooses. Even if it is dissapproved by the head of the household.
  • First Continental Congress

    started September 6, It was the first attempt at diplomatically resolving the conflicts between britain and the americans.
  • Lexington

    First shot of the Revelutionary war fired.
    This was the First battle of the Revolutionary war.
    When British troops had overcome the patriot forces in attempt in crippling supplies
  • Concord

    The first Patriot victory in the war.
  • Second Continental Congress

    This was the result of the boston Massacre, and Lexington and Cocord. THis is when the Declaration of Independence was drafted and when Washington was chosen as general of The New Continental Army.
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill

    The battle of Bunker hill was an American loss, for they had very little supplies.
  • Common Sense

    Written by Thomas Payne, it was an epiphany for the patriots, enouraging them in thier blight.
  • Battle of New York

    British Redcoats invade staten Island, in attempt to disable Washington.
  • Declaration of Independence

    This is the break-up letter with Britain, meaning this is the Americans saying that they are thier own country, and should be treated as such
  • Battle of Trenton

    The fameous just-after-christmas battle, where it was -20*F , when the Americans retake Trenton in the name of Liberty.
  • Battle of Princeton

    On a cold, windy Friday, a British Brigade attempted at a counter attack against Washington. THey Fail. EPICALLY
  • Fort Ticonderoga

    THis is when Benedict Arnold and his men attacked on the Fort of Ticonderoga.
    The Patriots finally win, making other countries interested in the new country.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    This battle is excruciatingly important because it is when Franklyn had persuaded France and Spain to join the AMericans in thier blight. The two countries both assist the Rebels to victory.
  • Winter at Valley forge

    (All through the winter) The Americans are starving in a valley, rations are very low. Thanks to Marquis de Lafayette, the americans are supplied with warm clothes and other nessesities.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The most epic win ever.
    The americans and french completly surround the british at yorktown. Ending the war.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The war officially ends in France,

    Britain now respects America as its own nation, and America is officially on its own
