    The Proclamation
    The proclamation was signed at this time. It was used to create boundries between the thirteen colonies, and British territory.
  • George Greenville of Britain

    George Greenville of Britain
    George Greenville became the prim,e minister at the time. His goal was to relieve Bristish of it's debt. When the colonists smuggled goods instead of paying taxes, the government lost money because of the lack of people paying for resources. If colonist were caught sumggling, they were sent to court.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    George Greenville (Britains Prime Minister at the time) came up with a new law to decrease smuggling. He lowerd the tax that came toward molasses shipped to the colonist. But, the colonist didn't like this. They were angered.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    Again, George Greenville came up with another idea to raise money. He decided, that anything that was printed out on paper, was required to have a stamp on it that had to be bought. Paper, newsletters, newspapers, playing cards, etc. They were all taxed. This also angered the colonist because they had no say on what laws Britians passed toward them.
  • Stamp Act Protesting

    Stamp Act Protesting
    The colonist were very angry. They were tired of Britain taxing them so much and not letting them have a saw in laws. The colonists protested, burning down tax collector houses, and other tax collector figures. They believed only Americans had the right to tax other Americans.
  • Tax Act is Repealed

    Tax Act is Repealed
    Parliament listened to the colonists demands and took away the Stamp Act. As the colonists were celebrating their sucsess, Britain started the Declaratory Act, which says that Britain had all say and control over the thirteen colonies.
  • Conflict in Boston

    Conflict in Boston
    Birtain sended in military forces known as the "redcoats" to settle in Boston. The Redcoats made tents in the city streets and were controlling. The colonists didn't like this, because the redcoats were said to be rude and acting violently toward the people. The colonists marched to the redcoats, and they fired. Killing 5 people. The conflict gotten popular fast and colonists were even angrier at Britain
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Three ships arrived at Boston carrying mass amounts of tea. Diguised, and armed colonists raided the boat and threw 342 crates of tea overboard. When the actions came back to Britain, they too, was angered. But, they decided to get rid of the many acts and tax laws away from the colonists.
  • Colonies Take Action

    Colonies Take Action
    Colonies came together to form a plan to get rid of Britain. They then, formed the Continental Congress. They discussed about different boycotts that they could send against them so they would leave them be. They wanted to ignore Britain's parliment.
  • Lexiton and Concord Fighting

    Lexiton and Concord Fighting
    The Colonies, and Britain started making moves. They were training, and creating weapons for the expected conflict. British was saw making suspicious moves and a man named Paul Revere alerted the colonies that the British were coming to fight. Colonists quickly prepared for the fight. The Redcoats were the first to appear Lexington. That's when the first fight occured. But that wasn't the only one at this time.
