The life time of residential schools
Residential schools were government run religious schools that made to covert Indigenous children to Christianity. the first school opened in 1831 but these schools were not residential schools as they could not force people to join. Therefore the first proper residential school opened in 1880. These schools also killed about 3000-6000 people in total. In total over 150 000 people went to these schools. In total over 130 of these school existed and at one point over 80 existed at the same time
