  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar act was caused by the Parliment. It was a time of rebellion. It all started in Britain making laws and then in Boston where there was a boycott meeting saying they would not purchase anything the Brisitsh gave. Other colonies followed. The Sugar Act started because The taxes on sugar and molasses was way to high and many could not afford it. The colonies thought that the British had no right to do this.
  • Stamp Act of 1765

    Stamp Act of 1765
    The Stamp Act of 1765 was a a direct tax being placed on the British American colonies. This Act took place in Britain. They now had to pay for paper materials prodouced in London. The paper materials included newspapers, magazines, regular paper, and other types of materials. They could only pay in British currency. These taxes people payed was to help the military troops placed in North America. The people who had to pay taxes were upset that they were forcing them without agreement.
  • Sons of Liberty

    Sons of Liberty
    The Sons of Liberty was an organiazation formed by The American Patriotics. It origiated in the North American British colonies. The Sons of Liberty formed to prtoect the colonists and their rights and against the abuses of the British government. They were also involved in the Boston Tea Party,Tea Act, and the Intolerable Acts. The people liked the Sons of Liberty becaues they were on their side and would help against the British government. They would fight for their rights.
  • Townshed Acts

    Townshed Acts
    The Townshed Acts was a series of Acts passed by the Parliment of Great Britain. They were certain duties in the British colonies and in the planataions in America. The Townshes Acts were to collect revenue from the colonist in America by putting duties on imports of glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. The people did not like this and started protesting. The boston merchants started a boycott against these imported items. Other areas also started boycotting. This deacreas the British trade.
  • Boston Masscre

    Boston Masscre
    The Boston Masacre was a major event that took place on King Street. It was caused by the British army. Five were killed and six were injured. The Boston Massacre was a "street fight:". It was started because the Patriots were protesting against the British for their rights. When the fight started the British amry was obviously more equipped with guns and the Patriots only had sticks, stones, and whatever the could find. This event overall ended badly for the Patriots.
  • Commitees of Correspondence

    The Commitee of Corerresponence was caused by Samuel Adams. It was a agreement that each commitee would meet other towns and colonies would meet. They shared ideas and information about the new Britsih laws and ways to challenge them. They would be held in differnet places each time.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act was passed by the British Parliment. This was the final spark in the revoloutionary in Boston. This act was a monopoly on tea sales East Indian Company. American colonists were not allowed to buy tea unless from the East Indian Company. The Americans also saw this as another way of taxing without agreement and they did not like that. This later led to The Boston Tea Party.

    The Boston Tea Party was a political protest by the Sons of LIberty. It was taken place in Boston. It happened because they were upset they were being taxed on tea (the Tea Act). The Parliment seized 342 chests of tea in a midnight raid on three tea ships and threw them into the harbor.This was a very big rebellious act. They were mad about the fact of "no taxation without representation", which occurs alot in this time period.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts was a series of puntitive laws passed by British government. They were key developemnets to the outbreak to the American revoloution. There were four certain laws. The Intolerable Acts was not liked by the Patritos hints the name " Intolerable Acts."
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    The First Continental Congress was a convention of delegates from 12 colonies met at Carpenter's Hall in Philedelphia. It was the response to the Intolerable Acts. The Congress had 56 people attending. This meeting wasfor all the colonies to solve the problems. Georgia was not one of the twelve however because they were not elected. Some of the soloutions failed and others worked. Overall the second congress had better accomplishments. This was in general the end to this time period of events.
