The Battle of Troy

Odysseus fights in the Battle of Troy. He infilitrates the Trojan fort inside the wooden Trojan Horse and slays the Trojan defenders. The Greeks eventually win the Battle of Troy.

Island of the Lotus Eaters

Jan 1, 1002

Odysseus and his men are blown off course to the island of the Lotus Eaters. There, his men eat many lotus blossoms and feel a strong need to never leave the island. So Odyseeus ties them the masts of his ships and they leave the isle.

Cyclops

Jan 1, 1003

After the island of the Lotuse Eaters, Odyseeus' travels take him to the dreaded Island of the Cyclops

Aeolus

Jan 1, 1004

Next, Odysseus travels to meet Aeolus, the god of the wind. Odysseus stayed there for a while and as gift for their journey, he was given a bag of the westerly winds. The men opened the bag feeling that Odyseeus was hiding great treasure. The wind blew them way off course.

Laestrygonians

Jan 1, 1005

The next stop was the home of the Laestrygonians. A cannibalistic race. The Laestrygonians destroyed most of Odysseus' fleet and ate some of his men.

Aeaea

Jan 1, 1006

Next, Odyseeus arrives at Aeaea, the home of goddess Circes. Circes helps out Odyseeus by giving him some supplies but also turns all of his men into pigs. Odyseeus used a herb he recieved from Hermes, the messenger god, and uses it to turn his men back into humans.

Land of the Dead

Odysseus then travels to the Land of the Dead. He meets some of the fallen Greeks from the Battle of Troy such as Achilles and Ajax. He is then frightened by some of the souls and returns to his ship.

Sirens

Jan 1, 1008

Odysseus then travels past the Island of the Sirens. To prevent his men form succombing to the temptation of the Sirens, Odysseus covers their ears with beeswax. He orders them to tie him to the mast of the ship. They make it through safely.

Scylla and Charybdis

Jan 1, 1009

Odysseus then travels throught the Strait of Messina, home to the snake monster thing Scylla and the swirling whirlpool Charybdis. Many of his men are eaten by the monster. He luckily escapes with few of his men remaining.

Island of Helios

Jan 1, 1010

Odysseus then lands at the island of Helios, the God of the Sun. Circes tells Odysseus not to eat the cattle, which he relays to his men. But while he goes off th pray to the Gods, his men slays all of the cattle and eats them. Zeus, as punishment, hits their ship with a bolt of lightning and destroys the ship

Shipwreck

Odyseeus' ships wrecks at the island of Calypso,

Calypso

Jan 1, 1012

Odysseus meets Calypso. But Calypso holds Odysseus for seven years before eventually returning home to Ithaca.
