    Averam Noam Chomsky was born on December 7, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to a middle-class Jewish family.

    At age 16 Chomsky had entered the University of Pennsylvania. He struggled to find topics to interest him here and two years later considered leaving to pursue politics on a kibbutz.     Noam Chomsky attained his PhD from Penn State in the year 1955 from his dissertation in LSLT. MIT later appointed him to a teaching position that required him to conduct work on a machine translation device (That he was openly skeptical about).

    By 1961 Noam Chomsky was know as, 'The Father of Modern Linguistics', with his theories on; Universal Grammar, Theoretical Grammar, and various theoretical paradigms.
    Also in 1961, Chomsky had been announced as a full professor at MIT, Ferrari P. Ward Professor of Modern Linguistics at MIT, and Institute Professor in 1976.

    With the publlication of his newest books, 'Aspects of the Theory of Syntax (65)' and 'Cartesian Linguistics (66)' Chomsky took a twist to the debate on whether babies are born blank slates or if we are born with predetermines knowledge.
