My Life In Movies

  • Sisters

Even though I may not show it all the time, my sister is very important to me. When I was younger I used to cling to my sister's side and do everything she did. My mom says that when I was little and my sister would have to go to preschool, I would be very depressed for the whole day until she came home. We fight and we know how to annoy each other the best, but we have a bond like no other.
  • Yours, Mine, and Ours

In the movie Yours, Mine, and Ours, there are six children in the family that are adopted from foster care. These characters connect to me because they are adopted like me.
  • Enchanted

Enchanted is one of my families favorite movies. There's tons of funny quotes that my family always references but the one that we use most of the time is, "what's not to like?" This quote is said by the prince when he is asked if he likes himself, the confident character he is, he replies with, "what is not to like?"
  • Wizard of Oz

In the Wizard of Oz, there is a famous quote said by Dorothy and she says, "There's no place like home." This quote relates to my life because I have the tendency of getting homesick easily. It was really bad when I was younger because I would be so homesick I would come home from sleepovers in the middle of the night. It isn't so bad now but there's always something comforting about being in your own home.
  • Cheaper By the Dozen 2

In Cheaper By the Dozen 2, the whole family goes to this campground for the summer. The entire setting of this movie reminds me of the cabin my grandparents built up in Rangeley Maine. In 2012 my aunts and uncles all flew over to surprise my grandfather for his 80th birthday up in Maine. When the entire family was up there, it reminded me of Cheaper By the Dozen 2.
  • Teen Beach Movie

There is a scene in Teen Beach Movie where Mac and Brady are singing the song, "Can't Stop Singing." Eden, one of my childhood best friends, and I have a old video of us acting out this scene when we were younger. Singing, dancing, and acting all included in the video, including props as well.
  • Bedtime Stories

In the movie Bedtime Stories, the children have a pet guinea pig named Bugsy. Budgsy was the main inspiration for my family getting my sister and I pet guinea pigs.
  • Enchanted pt.II

In the summers of 2015 we hosted a french exchange student to come and live with us. She came back the next summer to stay with us again in 2016. Her personality is very similar to that of Giselle from Enchanted. Both are the sweetest people you would ever meet, and are always bubbly and happy.
  • Evan Almighty

In the movie Evan Almighty, God (Morgan Freeman) says, "“If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient?” My family, but mostly my parents, always say this quote when me and my sister are being impatient with something. Most of the times it happens when we are out at dinner and we are waiting for our food to come, my mom says, "God is giving you the opportunity to be patient." The ironic thing is that we aren't religious.
  • The Proposal

The Proposal is set to be in Alaska but it was actually filmed in Manchester by the Sea, Massachusetts. Callan's family owns a house in Manchester that is neighboring to the house that The Proposal was filmed at. In 2017 and 2019 during the summer, I went down with Callan and spent a couple days there.
  • The Beach

I've never seen or even heard of this movie before, but the title describes my daily life in the summer time. Specifically during the summer of 2019, I spent practically every day at the beach. We would go to the beach at 9:00 am and stay there until around 3:00 pm and it is my favorite thing to do.
  • Marley and Me

In the movie Marley and Me, there is a part where Jennifer and John go to Ireland for their honeymoon. In one of the scenes there a a bunch of sheep in the way of the road that they are driving down. This relates to my life because when I went to Ireland we saw lots of sheep, and cows and the scenery was very similar to that of the movie.
  • Race To Witch Mountain

The setting of this movie isn't necessarily what ties into my life, it's the setting of where I watched it. Before the Corona virus outbreak, Callan, Colby K, David E, and Sam F, would come over to my house for movie nights at least every Saturday night, and the very first movie we ever watched was Race To Witch Mountain outside with a projector and a bed sheet.
  • Cinderella

For prom, I wore a huge ball gown dress that reminded me of Cinderella. It was very fun wearing such a big dress, and I felt like Cinderella wearing it. There was also a lot of rushing around before grand march so I was running around a lot (in heels) and it made me feel like I was running away from the prince in the movie as well.
  • Five Feet Apart

The movie Five Feet Apart relates what is going on in our world today with the Corona virus outbreak. Doctors advise people to "social distance" themselves from other people and to keep six feet apart from people. Even though the movie title is five feet, it's close enough to the actual distance which is six feet.
